BRITAIN'S Got Talent is the perfect family show mix of jaw-dropping acts, mystifying feats and impressive vocal talent.

And with the winners securing a spot on the stage at the Royal Variety Performance, there is a happy prize to end the series too.

Yet despite many smile-inducing moments on the ITV reality series, there's a slew of sadness too.

Here we take a look at some of the most teary moments the BGT panel have encountered through the series - ahead of the new judging line-up reveal this weekend.

BGT host Dec Donnelly couldn't hide his emotion as a shy dad was surprised on the show

Back in 2022, BGT anchor and dad-of-two Dec Donnelly broke down in tears as one shy father took to the stage.

Nick Edwards thought he had planned a day out with the family in London, but was shocked to see his mum walk out on stage with his two young daughters.

The young girls and his mum explained how they wanted Nick to audition on BGT but had to surprise him because they knew he wouldn't have done it himself.

The property manager, 35, explained how he lost confidence in his singing and kept his talents hidden at home.

When Nick came back on he sung an acoustic track dedicated to his beautiful daughters.

Host Declan Donnelly was so overcome with emotion, he needed a moment to gather himself before talking to the camera.

Amanda admitted her and fellow judge Alesha Dixon were "in bits" as they wiped away tears.

AMANDA'S EMOTION

During the same series, Amanda wiped away tears as she was reunited with the midwife that saved her life.

The judge was invited onto the stage by former BGT winner Richard Jones during BGT's The Ultimate Magician series.

Richard asked her to name someone who meant a lot to her and she picked Pippa Nightingale.

When Richard asked who she was, Amanda choked back tears as she said "she's the woman who saved my life."

Taking hold of Amanda's hand, Richard then placed his hand on a mirrored box before a woman came into view behind it.

When Amanda saw her, she burst into tears and revealed it was Pippa.

In 2019, Flakefeet Primary School bagged former BGT judge David Walliams' Golden Buzzer.

They moved the Little Britain comedian to tears as they belted out Queen's Don't Stop Me Now in their audition.

He was reduced to tears by their moving performance, putting them straight into the semi-finals.

The aspiring singers were aged between 4 and 11 and have a variety of singing abilities.

They impressed in the show final, yet lost out to Chelsea Pensioner Colin Thackery.

ALESHA'S EMOTION

Just last year, Alesha was the judge left watery-eyed after a rap duo tugged at her heartstrings.

Her emotion came as Flintz and Taylor forgot the words in their final performance.

She seen crying on the panel as her heart went out to rapper Flintz, whose nerves clearly got the better of him in the live show.

Amanda was seen rubbing Alesha's back to comfort her as the performance mistake clearly moved her.

With tears in her eyes, Alesha - who gave the lads her golden buzzer in their audition- consoled the boys as she gave her comments after they performed.

She told him was telling him "artist to artist" that he was "going to beat yourself up" about it, but to not let it get to him.

She told him she "knew" what it felt like to make mistakes while performing but added: "I promise you this, you are going to inspire so many other kids to get out and do what they wanna do and fight because this music industry is hard."
