Sonny Becomes a Person of Interest in Natalia’s Death — and Sidwell Frames [Spoiler] For the Fire at Charlie’s

Emma is hanging out with her new dog Outback at the new café in town. Gio arrives and tells Emma that the dog is a dirty little thief who keeps stealing his shoes. Emma wonders if maybe Outback isn’t the problem, and the real issue he’s having is finding out about his parents.

Gio's been a downer GH

Gio admits he’s upset about his parents, and though Emma offers to listen, he isn’t ready to talk about it. He also knows he’s been a big downer to be around lately. Emma assures him that she and her grandma love having him live with them. Gio hasn’t figured it all out, but he is dropping out of PCU.

Emma asks what PCU has to do with what is going on with his family? Gio says he’s supposed to be the first chair violin in the fall, but he has no intention of playing music again, so he’ll lose his scholarship. Emma suggests he wait, as he may feel differently by the fall. By September, he may want that spot.

Emma advises Gio GH

Gio says he may go back to music one day, but he needs a clean break right now. He says that without passion, that his music is just hollow. That makes music one more thing his family has stolen from him. She convinces him not to drop out just yet, and suggests they find out what else he’s passionate about. She reminds him that he offered to help him take down Dalton for animal testing. She has been working to get close to him, but can’t get into his lab, so they may have to resort to drastic measures. He thinks that means something illegal.

Why Did Joss Join the WSB?

Vaughn meets Joss at Charlie’s, per her call. She tells him she came to check what happened out for herself, but can’t seem to get herself to leave. She rants that her former stepsister could have died tonight, and all because she’s Sonny’s daughter. Joss notes her brother Morgan died because he was Sonny’s son, and it’s the same reason why Michael almost died as well. She cries that Sonny brings death and destruction wherever he goes.

Joss vents to Vaughn GH

Joss admits that Sonny is one of the main reasons she wanted to join the WSB. Vaughn realizes she wants to climb the ladder at the WSB to take Sonny down, which Joss confirms.

Who Does Sidwell Frame for the Fire?

Selina arrives to meet with Sidwell at Wyndermere, per his request. He warns her that she’s about to go to war with Sonny Corinthos. She laughs and says she is not at war with Sonny, and that she even goes to great lengths to avoid conflict with him. Sidwell says that was before she firebombed Charlie’s tonight, and reveals all the evidence goes back to her and two of her employees. Selina realizes she’s been set up.

Sidwell Blackmails

Selina notes that Sonny would believe her over Sidwell, if she went to him with what she told him. He doubts Sonny would give her the chance to explain, and floats the idea that once Sonny starts digging into what she’s been up to, other evidence against her may surface.

Selina says goodbye GH

Sidwell says the best idea for her right now is to leave town. Selina can’t believe he’s asking her to walk away from her business, which she spent years building. He says she can return, with his blessing, once he’s taken care of Sonny. Selina says she can’t come back unless Sonny is dead. He is aware, so she guesses she has a plane to catch. She tells Sidwell, “Until we meet again.”

At the hospital, Kristina has been admitted, and Alexis insists she stay for the night. Alexis asks her to tell her what happened, and Kristina recounts the events of the evening, and that Marco saved her life. Alexis says they have Marco to thank for a lot, as if she had died, she’d have killed Sonny with her bare hands.

Kristina and Alexis and Molly chat GH

Molly comes in and says Deanna needs Kristina’s ID for paperwork. Kristina doesn’t have it on her, but Alexis says she has a copy on her phone. Alexis goes to take care of the paperwork, and Molly tells Kristina that she impressed her tonight. Kristina points out that Marco was the hero, but Molly says she is talking about how she handled Mom when she went after Sonny. She let their mom say what she needed to say without defending her dad.

Molly and Kristina bond GH

At the nurses’ station, Alexis fills out the paperwork and gets flustered as it brings back memories of Sam. Deanna offers to fill out most of it for her.

Back in her room, Kristina tells Molly that she doesn’t blame her dad for tonight, but she also knew she had to let her mom vent, as she was terrified. Molly admits she was terrified too, and cries that she can’t lose her sister. Alexis, standing in the doorway, listens and smiles.

Was Natalia Murdered?

Marco sits with his mother’s body and cries. He can’t believe they end this way, and even though they had their problems, he cries that he loves her.

At the nurses’ station, Lucas tells Liz that he feels helpless at the moment. Anna approaches and asks him to help her by telling her about the circumstances that led to Natalia’s death.

As Lucas is telling her about Natalia’s drunk messages to her son, Marco appears. Marco still has no idea what happened tonight.

Lucas comforts Marco GH

Liz chimes in that she and Lucas tried to call him, but Marco says he left his phone in the car during the events at Charlie’s. Anna tells him that he was a hero tonight. Marco knows he was able to save Kristina, but not his mother.

Anna fills him in on the details of finding Natalia at the Metro Court, and that she was brought in unresponsive. Isaiah adds that the preliminary cause of death appears to have been an overdose. Marco asks, “Accidental or intentional?” Isaiah says they won’t know for sure until the official autopsy results are in.

Anna and Chase provide Marco with some details GH

Anna and Chase ask about the messages Natalia sent to her son. Marco says his phone is in the car, but tells them most of them were incoherent. He went to check on her because of them, but was sidetracked by the fire. He didn’t know his mom needed him so badly. Lucas tells him this isn’t his fault.

MArco reveals his doubts GH

Marco asks how Anna ended up at his mother’s room. Anna explains that DA Turner asked the PCPD to check on her, and he must know, as his mother’s lawyer, that the DA has been working on a deal with her to turn against Sonny. Chase says that today Natalia showed up at the christening, talked to Sonny, and she appeared troubled.

Marco knows nothing about the christening. However, Marco is positive this wasn’t an overdose, and Sonny killed her. Anna asks if he has proof, but Marco doesn’t. Lucas suggests that he take some time to calm down and process what happened. Anna asks him to call them if he remembers anything else.

Lucas teis to comfort MArco GH

When Anna and Chase leave, Marco thanks Lucas, as he was on the verge of telling Anna he knew his mom was about to flee town. He’s grateful Lucas was here. Lucas asks him to do something for him and have Isaiah check him out.

While Marco gets checked out, Lucas, per a request from Marco, contacts Sidwell to give him the news about Marco and Natalia.

Meanwhile, Chase and Anna discuss what they know. Just then, Anna gets a message from Metro Court security and notes that it’s not good news for Sonny.

Chase and Anna get evidence GH

Sidwell shows up later, and Lucas gives him and Marco time to talk. Sidwell comforts his son, who knows he must call his sister and tell her about their mother. Sidwell tells him not to worry about that now. Marco wishes things could have been different between him and his mother, and Sidwell says he knows.

How Will Sonny Get Justice?

At Sonny’s, he rants to Jason that they both know the fire was Sidwell’s doing. They wonder if Sidwell was also responsible for the explosion at the penthouse. Sonny says if anything happened to Kristina, then he doesn’t know what he’d have done.

Jason and Sonny talk Sidwell GH

Sonny says Kristina is the one kid who is most like him, including sharing the same demons and emotions, which is why she feels the need to protect her. Jason says he has men watching over Kristina at the hospital, and they’ll find out who did this and stop them. Sonny wants more than that. He wants an eye for an eye. Jason says that would mean targeting Marco, who just saved Kristina. Sonny feels that if Marco ends up as collateral damage, then so be it.

Sonny wants to take out Marco GH

Later, Anna arrives at Sonny’s and tells him that Natalia Ramiriz is dead.

What Is Tracy’s Next Move?

At the Q mansion, Brook Lynn is working in the living room when Tracy finds her. She notes it’s late to be working, but Brook Lynn says Deception could be in serious trouble. She fills Tracy in on Natalia’s findings and insists it was a clerical error on the part of Sonny’s financial people. Tracy doesn’t think so, and she’s unhappy that she has been right all along about letting him invest in the company. Brook Lynn says she’s sorry and blames herself.

Tracy was right GH

Tracy blames Lois, as she raised Brook Lynn to trust Sonny. Brook Lynn believes it was an error, and Sonny would never want to hurt her, Lucy or Maxie. Tracy says the authorities won’t care, and this will tank Deception if it gets out. Brook Lynn says that they need to bury the evidence then.

Brook Lynn is concerned GH

Tracy refuses and says they will use this to their advantage. She wants to meet with the DA and come clean, and they may end up with just a slap on the wrist. Brook Lynn can’t do that, as Sonny is the only family member with whom Gio is still in contact. Tracy feels that this is the best reason to turn him in, as Sonny will just hurt Gio like he’s hurt other members of their family. Still, Brook Lynn fears Gio will hate her for taking Sonny away, so Tracy says she’ll do it herself.

Just then, Chase walks in, and Tracy chimes, “The PCPD has perfect timing for once!”

In the Show’s Final Moments

Tracy tells Chase she has news for him, but he needs to say something first. He fills them in on the fires at Charlie’s, Kristina almost dying, and that Natalia is dead. He reveals that Anna is on her way to question Sonny. Tracy says they must find Gio, as it’s not safe for him to be around Sonny right now. Sonny has taken too many people from this family and isn’t taking Gio.

Tracy and BLQ get news GH

Emma asks Gio if Sonny would give them pointers on how to get away with breaking the law. Gio says he wouldn’t, even for a good cause. He also admits Sonny is the only one in his family whom he trusts right now.

In her room, Kristina asks her mom how long she’s been standing in her doorway. Alexis says long enough to have her heart warmed seeing them together, and she wishes Sam were here. Alexis says they need one another now more than ever and can’t let anything separate them. The girls agree.

Alexis and her girls GH

Lucas asks Liz what her opinion is, given that she’s seen a lot of overdoses. Was this an OD or murder? Liz says there were no signs of violence and asks if he thinks Sonny could have had Natalia killed. All Lucas knows is that it seems like a mob war is coming, with Marco’s family on one side and his on the other.

Marco tells his dad that he feels Natalia’s death is his fault. Marco cries that he could have gotten to her in time if he hadn’t stopped to save Kristina. Sidwell panics and realizes his son could have died tonight in the fire he had set. Marco says thanks to him, Sonny’s daughter is alive, and thanks to Sonny, my mother’s dead. Sidwell asks what Natalia’s death has to do with Sonny?

Sonny is stunned to learn from Anna that Natalia is dead, but doesn’t know why she’s telling him, claiming they weren’t that close. She shows him photos of his bodyguard talking to Natalia outside her room at the Metro Court, and later vanishing when her officers showed up.  She knows Natalia was scheduled to give evidence against him, and now she’s conveniently dead. In the meantime, he is a person of interest, and she has to take him in for questioning.

Joss tells Vaughn that he could go to Brennan and tell him about her unhealthy vendetta, which would mean he could finally get rid of her. He reminds her that he advised her that people with lofty ideals get jaded, but she has a concrete goal behind wanting to be an agent. Her goals will get her through some very tough times. She asks what his goal is. He teases that maybe he’ll tell her when they know each other better, and pulls her into a kiss.

On the next General Hospital, Brook Lynn gives someone bad news. Lulu asks her mother how far she’s willing to go to make that happen. At the pool, Michael tells Willow not to make this any harder for Wiley than it has to be. Also at the pool, Tracy tells Gio that his life is in danger. Emma tells Rocco, who is with Danny, that he owes it to himself to find out the truth. At the PCPD, Sonny asks Turner why he should take her word on this. Dante asks Jason, “Do I keep looking, or are they buried in the woods?”
