Who's ready to jump back into the world of rescue with the 118?
9-1-1 season 9 is less than three months away from premiering on October 16, 2025 on ABC, and folks are gearing up for the latest chapter with this group of L.A. first responders. Even though Peter Krause will no longer be part of the show as Captain Bobby Nash, Oliver Stark (who plays Evan "Buck" Buckley) is seemingly giving new clues on the current status of the upcoming season.
As Oliver posted an Instagram photo of him back on set, the actor shared 9-1-1 is officially in production for season 9. And if that's not enough, he already had a guest join him on the studio lot with the addition of his adorable pet dog Bear.
Naturally, seeing Oliver's latest update about the ABC procedural drama had everyone in a total stir in the comments.
"SO excited for this season!! Just a little over two months to go!!! 🚒❤️," one person wrote. "Can’t wait to see Buckley again!!" another declared. "@oliverstarkk OMG I can’t wait. So, excited. Don’t care what anyone says. ❤️," a different follower added.
Now, this is exciting news! And despite details for 9-1-1 season 9 being kept under wraps, we do know one thing: a new captain for the 118 is inevitable after Bobby's untimely death in the previous season.
As for how Oliver thinks 9-1-1 season 9 will follow up on the state of the 118 after the loss of Bobby, he told Principle Magazine there are already some interesting developments.
"It’s gonna be interesting in the sense that at the end of Season 8, we lost Peter Krause’s character, [Bobby]," he told the outlet in June 2025. "I think Season 9 is gonna be about rebuilding and growing from that, seeing how it’s possible to grow from that, and restructuring of the 118, which is the firehouse in the show, and seeing how everybody can kinda come together and try and move forward."
