Source Sets the Record Straight on Taylor Lautner's Involvement in 'Dancing With the Stars' (Exclusive) originally appeared on Parade.
Along with death and taxes, it seems like one of the constants in this world the last few years has been rumors of Taylor Lautner on Dancing with the Stars. Like clockwork, the Twilight actor has been heavily speculated each and every offseason to be showcasing his moves on the ABC reality series.
To be fair, the seven-time Teen Choice Award winner has shown plenty of interest in DWTS the past few years. He had pro power couple Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson on his podcast in 2023. And he has engaged with stars who have appeared on the show, like Season 32 winner Xochitl Gomez and Season 33 finalist Stephen Nedoroscik. And former pro and current judge Derek Hough recently told Parade that Lautner would be the celebrity he'd most like to see on the show in a future season.
"He would be great," he said. "He would be fantastic. Competitive, athletic."
So it's no surprise that Lautner was part of the focus of an article put out on July 3. According to an inside source, "Taylor is one of the top people they want for this next season. They're in talks with it now and finalizing everything."
Unfortunately for people eagerly awaiting the debut of Jacob Black on the dance floor, they'll have to wait a bit longer. A source exclusively tells Parade that "there is no truth whatsoever" to the claims that Lautner is heavy in talks to appear on DWTS this season.
Parade has reached out to a representatives for Lautner and Dancing With the Stars for comment.
While there is rampant speculation about who may be appearing in contention for the Len Goodman Mirror Ball Trophy this fall, a surprising amount of celebrities have already been announced. Conservationist Robert Irwin was announced at Hulu's "Get Real" event, while social media star Alix Earle was confirmed back in May. And this past week's Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion revealed that both Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt would be leaving Utah for Los Angeles to put on their dancing shoes.
