One of the NFL’s star pass rushers wants the NFL to take some restrictions off his sack celebrations.
During an appearance at Fanatics Fest over the weekend, New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan was asked his opinion on the worst rule in the NFL. He immediately zeroed in on excessive celebration rules.
“For the fans, I think it’s the excessive celebration,” Jordan said. “Like, they scored a touchdown, they drag three defenders on their back, let them. I get a sack off a quarterback, give me five seconds. Put the spotlight on me. I’m gonna kick him while he’s down and I’m going to go about my way. Let us celebrate. It’s okay to taunt. Bring back taunting. Let me talk my s–t.”
What’s the dumbest rule in the NFL right now?@camjordan94 didn’t hesitate: “Bring back taunting!!!” 😂 pic.twitter.com/LtWty5IXKx

Jordan’s proposed celebration might be a bit too far even for a more relaxed NFL, but he will find some sympathy for his position. There are even quarterbacks that believe celebration rules have become too tight recently.
The NFL does not appear likely to listen to Jordan’s concerns anytime soon, and penalties like this should remain the norm. However, plenty will still agree with his sentiment.
