Station 42 Says Goodbye to One of Their Own in 'Fire Country' Season 3 Finale Sneak Peek

When Fire Country returns for Season 4 this fall, Station 42 might be missing one of their own. After realizing that the station would not offer him the career growth he was hoping for, Jake (Jordan Calloway) decided to take a job at another station. This departure was unforeseen, but everyone is happy for him given what he stands to gain. The two-hour Fire Country Season 3 finale charts his future on the show as he makes final plans to take the new job. CBS released a sneak peek of Episode 19, "A Change in the Wind," which shows a Station 42 family gathering as they have breakfast together and say goodbye to their captain. "When a fire erupts at a gas station, Bode (Max Thieriot) and Manny (Kevin Alejandro) jump into action to protect the patrons and property," in part one of the two-hour season finale. "Extremely high winds and dangerous conditions push the Zebel Ridge fire into Edgewater, threatening Three Rock and Walter’s care facility," reads the logline for part two, Episode 20, "I'd Do It Again."

Station 42 group breakfasts are not common, so seeing everyone gathered together in the video below heightens the importance of the occasion. Sharon (Diane Farr) is feeling sentimental, and everyone acts like they are not. Everyone and their significant other are present, and Sharon's use of "Fam Bam" lights up the table. "That's low-key embarrassing," Vince (Billy Burke) says, using the kids' language nowadays. Jake's impending departure comes up, and Vince admits replacing him won't be easy. However, Jake's behavior hints at unspoken feelings. He might not be thrilled to leave Station 42 and hopes someone asks him to stay. It must be heartbreaking to see how easy it is for them to say goodbye as if he were just another guy. "I'm only going to be a few hours away. And who knows? The way these fires are, we might be fighting a fire together in Mendocino," he says.

The finale features a fire that keeps growing with increasing winds. Everything starts at the gas station. “We had the biggest explosion we’ve done on the show. But it was funny. It’s like now the third episode of Fire Country I’ve directed. First thing our special effects guys say is, ‘We’re going to make it big.’ And I’m like, ‘Sweet, let’s go.'" Thieriot told TV Insider. The fire might have far-reaching consequences, putting Bode's family in direct danger. “Given the people who were involved and given the scale of this fire, I think that the fire could potentially impact these people forever going forward," teased the actor/director. He also said there will be a "game-changer" that will “make an impact for sure.”
