Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow have become one of the leading WR-QB duos in the NFL. Stephen A. Smith puts Chase’s talent into perspective.
Ja’Marr Chase has had his ups and downs with the Cincinnati Bengals. In one year, he was a franchise receiver catching passes from Joe Burrow in the Super Bowl.
In another year, the Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver was working to get on the same page as Jake Browning and hoping to scrape together some window-dressing wins on a lost season.
Ja’Marr Chase has also had his highs and lows with the front office. After a year of tense negotiation, the wide receiver got his money, potentially adding problems for the Bengals in the process.
Myles Garrett also played a role in helping the receiver, but Chase’s play did the bulk of the work. Not only did it make him more money, but it also pushed Stephen A. Smith to give one of the highest compliments he could.
Stephen A. Smith on Ja’Marr Chase
Speaking on a March 20 edition of “First Take,” Stephen A. Smith called the wide receiver a “stud” and took things to another level.
“I think Ja’Marr Chase is a stud. I had no idea. I knew he was good. But I think this brother, look at his body, look at his speed, his ball-catching ability. Look at how he runs away.
“He, to me, has a chance to be one of the top three receivers in NFL history when all is said and done,” he said.
