The comments came as the dancer was back chatting with her winning partner, comedian Chris McCausland
Dianne Buswell has said she has 'been struggling' as she joked about 'being mean' to one of her Strictly Come Dancing co-stars.
The dancer, who is still riding high from winning the BBC One dance contest last year, was back chatting with her winning partner, comedian Chris McCausland, this week on their podcast, Winning Isn't Everything.
The latest podcast episode comes while Dianne is currently on tour alongside fellow Strictly professional Vito Coppola. Their show, named Red Hot and Ready kicked off last week and is set to go on until July 26.
But while the show has only just got underway, Dianne has already been struggling as she has been struck down with a bout of illness. "I've been struggling, I've had a struggle struggle week," she told Chris: "I did have a moment, I've cried and everything."
It made her reflect on the times she made Chris push through during the training sessions when he wasn't feeling well as the Australian star said: "I had a moment where I thought 'I feel really bad when I used to be so mean to Chris about being sick'."
Taking his opportunity, Chris joked about all of the times he cried in rehearsals that wasn't for for "joyous, emotional reasons", but because he felt unwell while having to train for the hit dance show.
It comes after Dianne joked the 'truth's coming out' months after her Strictly win alongside Chris. As fans know, the professional dancer emerged victorious alongside the comedian during the hit show's 2024 final back in December.
There were tears aplenty when they lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy, with their win also making history as Chris was the BBC One dance contest's first blind contestant, as they beat off competition from their fellow series finalists.
During the last episode of their podcast, he pair were eard ecalling Strictly when Chris admitted: "One thing I did before joining Strictly was stretch," to which Dianne replied: "You did your stretching..."
Chris continued: "I started stretching and I kept it up because I thought, 'Well, I've got no dance experience. I'm not going to go into this...' People said, 'Go and have some dance lessons.'
"I thought no, because I've never dance and that's the point of me doing this is to start from scratch. But the one thing I'd hate to do is move all them tour dates and join Strictly, then be injured in two weeks."
But Dianne responded: "Well hang on, you only thought you were going to last two weeks. Now the truth comes out! He was silently confident he was going to make that final and win it, weren't you Chrs. 'I'm only going to last two weeks...' What a liar you are!"
