Strictly Come Dancing has seen a number of professional dancers come and go over the years - here's a look back at some of the forgotten stars from the BBC show.

Since its debut over two decades ago, Strictly Come Dancing has welcomed a host of famous faces onto the BBC programme.
A myriad of celebrities, including pop sensations Emma Bunton and JB Gill, soap actors Patsy Palmer and Bobby Brazier, and television presenters such as Good Morning Britain's Ed Balls and BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty, have all earned their place in the Strictly Hall of Fame.
Whilst speculation continues to swirl around who will be joining this year's line-up, the professional dancers set to compete this autumn have been revealed.
The upcoming series will see the return of Amy Dowden, Aljaž Škorjanec, Dianne Buswell, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Márquez, Lauren Oakley and Carlos Gu.
Also making a comeback are Johannes Radebe, Jowita Przystał, Kai Widdrington, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Vito Coppola, Nancy Xu, Nadiya Bychkova, Michelle Tsiakkas and Luba Mushtuk, reports Edinburgh Live.
Despite many professionals returning to the show, and the announcement that two new dancers will be joining the ranks, BBC viewers have witnessed numerous professionals come and go over the years.
Let's take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the past professional dancers who have graced the Strictly Come Dancing floor.
Brendan Cole

Brendan was part of the original professional line-up when Strictly first aired in 2004.
Throughout his tenure, he was paired with Natasha Kaplinsky, Sarah Manners and Fiona Phillips before his departure in 2018.
At the time, Brendan admitted to being taken aback by the BBC's decision to let him go from the show.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on her ITV morning programme, he expressed: "I'm a little bit in shock at the moment.
"I'm quite emotional and a bit raw about it. I am very disappointed. It's an editorial decision. I will never know the ins and outs. I have had 15 incredible series on the show, I'm very proud of the whole show, they're a great team."
Since his departure from the BBC dance competition, he has taken part in SAS Who Dares Wins, X Factor Celebrity, and Dancing on Ice.
He is currently touring with The Return of the Legends alongside fellow former Strictly Come Dancing stars James Jordan, Pasha Kovalev, Vincent Simone, and Ian Waite.
Robin Windsor

BBC audiences first saw Robin join the Strictly cast in its eighth series in 2010. His tenure on the programme was relatively brief, as he left after four series in 2013 following a reported back injury.
In a sorrowful turn of events, it was announced in February this year that the dancer had died at the age of 44.

"Beyond his impeccable dancing, Robin's vibrant spirit lit up the room, infusing rehearsals and performances with infectious energy and warmth.

The British-Polish ballroom dancer continued to dazzle audiences as part of the professional line-up until 2015, which was two years subsequent to her husband James Jordan's departure from the series.
Yet, Ola didn't completely hang up her dancing shoes as she took on the role of judge for Poland's version of Dancing with the Stars in 2018, a position she held for one year.
When she announced this exciting career move on Instagram, she expressed: "This means so much to me to be doing something like this in my native country. Although I'm extremely excited to be part of this massive Polish show, I'm also doing it for my mum and dad, who are both over the moon and very proud."

Nevertheless, it appears he would be enthusiastic about returning to the BBC programme, as he revealed to Express.co.uk in 2024.
He remarked at the time: "Now that I've had this break, now that my children are grown up, I feel like I have more time. I would love to take the challenge again, for my personal things, and to show everybody who I am.
"I wouldn't mind going back and experiencing it all over again. I was thrown into the show from the beginning, and I never worked on TV, so everything was really overwhelming."

Giovanni captured viewers' hearts on the BBC programme when he arrived in 2015, with Georgia May Foote as his first celebrity partner.
The 34-year-old remained a fixture on the programme until his departure in 2024, amid accusations from his former Strictly partner, Amanda Abbington, though he has consistently refuted all claims made against him.
