A new series will start on BBC One this autumn

Strictly Come Dancing will be returning to our screens for its 23rd series later this year. Fans can tune into the BBC dance show in autumn as the professional dancers will pair up with a celebrity and aim to lift the glitterball trophy.

One professional dancer has recently took to social media to share a photograph of the team in training ahead of the 2025 series. Although it feels like we have only just said goodbye to the 2024 contestants, a fresh batch of celebrities will be getting glitzed and glammed, ready for the ballroom.

Claudia Winkleman will return as co-host for the 2025 series alongside Tess Daly. Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse will be dusting off their numbers as part of the iconic judging panel.

Karen Hauer, who joined the BBC show in in 2012, recently shared a photograph of the professional dancers on Instagram, who have already kickstarted their training for this years series. She captioned the post: "2025 Strictly Team" with a muscle emoji.
The Venezuelan-American professional dancer is returning for another series, after she was partnered with former professional footballer Paul Merson last year. This years celebrities are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Taking to the comments on social media, Strictly professionals Gorka Marquez, Johannes Radebe, Nancy Xu and Neil Jones all added love heart emojis.

Fans of the show did not shy away from showing their excitement. One wrote: "It makes me so happy to see you all back together. love you all. Keep shining." A second said: "What an amazing dream team", while a third added: "So exciting." A fourth also said: "What a team can’t wait for this."
However, it has recently been confirmed that two new professional dancers have joined the line-up for the new series. Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon will be paired up with two celebrities as the show gets underway later this year.

American-born Alexis is best known for winning US dance series So You Think You Can Dance in 2022 and was crowned as ‘America’s Favourite Dancer’, becoming the first female Ballroom and Latin dancer to claim the title.
She has performed as a guest Professional Dancer and in the dance troupe on the US version of Strictly, Dancing With The Stars, and has been part of the series' accompanying US tour for the past three years.
Australian-born Julian has been dancing since the age of 10, specialising in Ballroom and Latin American, and going on to represent Australia on the international stage. He appeared as a professional dancer on three seasons of Australia’s Dancing With The Stars.

As well as taking part in the competition itself, all of the professional dancers will be taking to the floor each week in group routines, this comes alongside music acts, theme weeks and the much-anticipated annual trip to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.
