Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has explained why her husband, Ben Jones, did not join her on a recent holiday. The Caerphilly-born professional dancer had just finished her headline dancing tour, Reborn, when she confirmed she would taking some time off ahead of "busy few months" of work.
On Instagram, the star revealed that her husband of nearly three years, who is also a professional dancer, had decided to stay at home, while she made the most of the sunshine abroad. With a bikini selfie on her Instagram story shared on Wednesday, April 10, the dancer confirmed her husband had encouraged her to go away for a well needed break.
In the caption of the photo, she wrote: "After a FaceTime with my husband who was trying to tell me it's going to rain here the entire time I'm away and how lovely it is back home... this pic for you!
"BTW he was invited but we have a lovely trip planned later this year and there's so much going on with home renovations and studio he opted to stay home and wanted me and my body to have some rest... even messaging me telling me not to step into the gym... I'm a lucky lady!"

The dancing duo had toured all over the UK with their dancing show, which came to an end at Buxton's Opera House on Sunday, April 6.
The Welsh star bid an emotional farewell to the tour but promised there would be "busy few months" ahead. This year's Strictly Come Dancing will begin later in the year, with both Amy and Carlos potentially being called up as the professional dancers of the cast. Last year, Amy made a return to the show after battling with breast cancer. The dancer was matched with JLS' JB Gill, however, she had to pull out due to a foot injury and was replaced by fellow professional dancer Lauren Oakley from the seventh week onwards of the 22nd series.
