Studs and duds from Panthers' Week 10 win over Giants

With a second straight win comes a second straight parade of heroes.

Here are the studs (and duds) from the Carolina Panthers’ 20-17 win over the New York Giants:

Hubbard is already paying off for the Panthers, who extended the workhorse back on a four-year, $33.2 million deal this past Thursday. He rushed for a career-high 153 yards and a touchdown on a hefty plate of 28 carries.

The hog mollies did plenty of work to open up Hubbard’s career day. They also allowed just one sack of quarterback Bryce Young.

Cade Mays, in his second straight start at center, deserves plenty of props for helping keep Giants star and Defensive Player of the Year candidate Dexter Lawrence II quiet.

Duds: Pass catchers

The outing wasn’t all that bad for the wideouts and tight ends. Rookies Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette got some length out of their three-catch performances—totaling 41 and 40 yards, respectively.

But outside of that, Young’s receivers combined for 29 yards on five catches. Plus, a few drops on some potentially big gains may have kept the Giants alive.

Dud: DC Ejiro Evero

The Panthers applied a safe and soft defense to close out regulation, which helped the Giants get the game to overtime. A struggling Daniel Jones was able to lead a 12-play, 55-yard drive that resulted in a game-tying field goal from our old friend Graham Gano.

Stud: DL A'Shawn Robinson

Never mind the Brian Burns revenge game. Today was more about the A’Shawn Robinson revenge game.

Robinson—against his former team—tallied seven tackles, a sack and a forced fumble on the first play from scrimmage in overtime. That turnover helped set up the Panthers for their eventual walk-off field goal by kicker Eddy Piñeiro.

Robinson’s forced fumble of Giants running Tyrone Tracy Jr. was recovered by Jewell, who also notched an interception.
