West Wilson says he is not in a “media war” with his co-star Lindsay Hubbard – and never was. The ”Summer House” star set the record straight on the March 12 episode of “Watch What Happens Live” when asked about his past comments about Hubbard’s potential return to the Hamptons-based Bravo reality show this summer.
In February, multiple outlets reported that Wilson said in an interview that there was “no way” Hubbard would return to “Summer House” now that she’s a mother.
On WWHL, Wilson was asked how he felt about Hubbard saying she’s “down for a media war” with him. The “Summer house” sophomore said the story “got clickbaited real bad.”
“I brought up how much I loved Lindsay this summer and was asked if she would come back to the house. And I said ‘No way unless we get a babysitter,’” he told host Andy Cohen. “Got headlined real bad. And I’ve written headlines before. What you’re supposed to do is keep it in the same narrative.”
Wilson said the headlines were a “full 180” from what he actually said. “But I called Lindsay, we squashed it,” he added.
West Wilson Said Lindsay Hubbard ‘Was So Fun’ Last Summer
The trouble started when Wilson appeared on Jason Tartick’s “Trading Secrets” podcast in February. During the interview, he was asked whether he thought the whole “Summer House” cast would be back this summer.
“Pregnant Lindsay, I loved her, she was so fun,” Wilson said of his co-star, who announced her pregnancy on Day 1 of filming last July. When asked about Hubbard returning to the show now that she’s a mom, Wilson speculated, “There’s no way, I don’t know, unless they bring the baby.”
“I don’t think I can babysit,” he added with a laugh. “I don’t know how that works.”
Hubbard, 38, welcomed her first baby with her boyfriend Turner Kufe in December 2024. The baby will be about seven months old when “Summer House” begins filming this summer.
Lindsay Hubbard Had a ‘Problem’ With West Wilson’s Comment

Hubbard confirmed that she spoke to Wilson after his comment blew up in the headlines. “I told him, I was like, ‘Look, here’s the problem that I have with this statement. The problem I’m having is, I just became a mother and this is my job and I need to be a provider for my daughter,’” Hubbard said on the March 6 edition of Betches’ “Mention It All” podcast.
“You going around being like, ‘There’s no way [she’s returning],’ is not really helpful, and is actually really hurtful,” she said of Wilson. “I thought we were friends and I’m trying to be financially independent and provide for my daughter. You saying, ‘There’s no way,’ is really [expletive] up.’”
Hubbard, who noted that she got Wilson the job on “Summer House,” admitted she wished he would have just answered the question in a hopeful way. “‘Oh, God, I really hope so.’ Or, ‘I’m here because of her, so I hope they figure out a way to include her despite the fact that she has a daughter,'” she suggested. “Say anything besides, ‘There’s no way.’”
Hubbard noted that she has “love” for Wilson and feels like a big sister to him. She acknowledged that she hashed things out with him but reiterated that he could have kept his mouth shut. “But if you want to go, then let’s [expletive] have a media war,” she said. “I’m down. I’m so down for a media war with West Wilson.”
Hubbard doesn’t know her status for the upcoming season of “Summer House.” But she told Entertainment Tonight that she “obviously” won’t bring her baby to the shared house in the Hamptons. She noted that scenes are also filmed in New York City. “So, you know, not me maybe living in the house with my eight-month-old daughter. But I do think that you know we leave a lot of room open for someone who’s in a transitional point in their life,” she said of a possible role on the show.
As for Wilson, he told Tartick the “Summer House” cast members never find out their fate until the “last minute.”
