I was talking with my dad on the phone today. We talked about possibly coming back for Labor Day Weekend, my cat Ginger, and the Vegas Golden Knights. One thing that was brought up was the temperature.
"How hot is it out there?"
-My father
"Well, it's 108 degrees today. No big deal."
-Me
"Nice! It's 80 degrees over here."
-My father
That got me thinking about how much closer we are to fall. The MLB trade deadline has passed and the temperatures are set to cool down soon. Obviously, you know what's happening next. I'll give you a hint: the Golden Knights are involved.
That'll also mean that our air conditioning gets turned off until April or May rolls around again. Yes, I'm using air conditioning as a means to count down the days of the NHL regular season coming to town. Yes, I probably need to step outside for a little bit and get some fresh air.
Well, aside from hockey season starting at the same time as shutting off our AC units, some players are cool like the other side of the pillow. Take Pavel Dorofeyev as a prime example.
Last season, he scored a team-high 35 goals. It was considered a breakout season that will have Kelly McCrimmon thinking about a contract extension. How much will Dorofeyev get in his next deal? Stay tuned!
But that also goes for superstars like Jack Eichel and Tomas Hertl on the power play. These guys always come through in these specific scenarios, making them important pieces to the puzzle. It's almost like you didn't need that AC unit cranking at 100% in the first place.
There you have it. Remember September or October as the time when you should shut off your AC. If you need a reminder, just look at when Pavel Dorofeyev and the Golden Knights start playing hockey. That should make life easier for you.
Fall is rapidly approaching. That means cooler times are ahead and the air conditioning will be shut off soon. Thank goodness. I was talking with my dad on the phone today. We talked about possibly coming back for Labor Day Weekend, ...
