Sunday thoughts about... getting out of the house

One of the few perils of having a remote job is that you don't get out of the house often. You're subjected to being holed up inside your place for the entire day, punching in words and numbers. Once you're done with your work, the sun's already setting.

It can be mentally draining for people like me. In turn, I've resorted to going outside and taking a walk. That way, I can relax, get my 2,000 steps in, and sight-see around the complex. It's refreshing in that you're not confined like a rat in a cage (despite all my rage).

That also came with seeing the Vegas Golden Knights take on the Las Vegas Raiders in the Battle 4 Vegas. No, it's not the fourth edition. That's just how they aptly named it.

It was refreshing meeting new people and watching the Golden Knights's biggest stars take on the biggest names on the Raiders. Plus, I've been to Las Vegas Ballpark numerous times. It made the viewing experience easier and much more palatable. Hello, Las Vegas Ballpark. I missed you and your hot dogs dearly.

Getting out of the house as a Golden Knights fan was refreshing in every way

Ever since I took on a remote job, I've had less of a desire to drive around. I'm fine with the air conditioning and my cat keeping me company, after all. You can't beat that combination in Las Vegas.

But going to a charity event did more than enough to soothe my indoor-hardened nerves. For one, my anxiety went away as soon as I entered the ballpark. A sense of familiarity struck me as I walked across the stadium.

"Hmm... I remember seeing all the Aviator players out on the field before the game."

"There's Spruce and his buddies!"

But there was also Chance with the Vegas Vivas. There were also the Golden Knights players preparing for the Battle 4 Vegas. I could see Reilly Smith and Logan Thompson talking amongst themselves as they prepared for the game.

It wasn't just Smith, though. Smith was also playing catch with Cole Schwindt, prepping their arms for their attempts at being softball players. It all felt like a formation of two loves into one.

For that, I'm thankful. I'm happy I got out of the house for the night. In fact, I went to Durango Casino to watch the Detroit Tigers play.

Sure, they might've lost against the Seattle Mariners. However, I was happy to sit in my domain for the day with a friend of mine. It reminded me of when I would see Smith and the Golden Knights play.
