Top Philadelphia Flyers goalie prospect Egor Zavragin has been named the KHL Goalie of the Week for Week 27 of the 2024-25 KHL regular season, the league announced Monday.
Zavragin, 19, has recently wrested control of the crease for SKA St. Petersburg, starting each of his team's last five games. This week, Zavragin made 29 saves on 30 shots (.967%) in a 3-1 win over Dinamo Minsk on Tuesday, then followed that up with a 23-save shutout of his former club, HC Sochi, to help SKA earn a 2-0 clean sheet on Friday.
Overall, Zavragin went 2-0-0 with a .981 save percentage, a 0.50 GAA, and one shutout to help SKA extend its winning streak to four games; Zavragin was in the net for all four wins.
The KHL Players of the Week joining Zavragin are Metallurg defenseman Alexei Maklyukov, who had a goal, assist, and a plus-4 rating in two games, Amur forward Oleg Li, who scored five goals and an assist in three games, and Severstal rookie Daniil Davydov, who scored a goal and an assist in three games.
This marks the first time Zavragin was recognized by the KHL as the Goalie of the Week.
The Flyers' 2023 third-round pick had thrice been recognized as the Rookie of the Week, not including the time he captured Rookie of the Month honors for the month of October.
Zavragin has posted a save percentage of .939 or higher in four of his last five games, helping his numbers surge back to where they were at the start of the season.
Overall, the 19-year-old Flyers prospect is 20-13-0 in 40 KHL appearances, recording a 2.52 GAA, a .917 save percentage, and four shutouts while playing in Russia's top hockey league for the very first time.
