Tamra Judge opened up about her mental health amid speculation that she is quitting “The Real Housewives of Orange County.”
The reality star, 57, said she has “hit a wall” emotionally in a tearful conversation on her “Two Ts In A Pod” podcast.
“There’s so much going on in my life … between therapy and Teddi and some other personal things I’m going through, I just hit a wall, and I feel like I’m in a full depressed mode,” she told her guest co-host, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania.
Judge’s regular co-host, former “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp, has taken a leave of absence from the podcast as she deals with some serious health issues.
Mellencamp, 43, recently revealed that her melanoma has metastasized, and said doctors found multiple tumors in her brain and lungs.
“I think everything with Teddi, and watching what she’s going through, weighed very heavy on you,” Catania told Judge on the podcast. “I haven’t seen you once since this all happened that you weren’t viscerally upset. You really care, and that says so much about you to me.”
Judge has not officially confirmed she is leaving “RHOC,” but she appeared to announce her exit earlier this week in her Instagram story.
“It was a long run! When life gives you real problems this reality s--- doesn’t make sense,” she wrote. “Peace out ✌️ I’m out.”
On the podcast, Judge said she went into the show’s current 19th season “not knowing, not sure, very anxious.”
She added she has been “dealing with some stuff through therapy, and that really breaks you down to your lowest point. … And then jumping into the show, and then Teddi — it’s just a combination of so many different things.”
Judge also said she has reached a point where she feels like everything around her “is starting to crumble.”
“I just couldn’t take the extra pressure. So, as of right now I’m just not good, but you know, Teddi gave me a pep talk and that is the first time I’ve laughed in so long,” she said.
“We laughed, laughed, and she just yelled at me and said, ‘Listen to me. If I have to be bald and fat right now and going through this, you get your ass back over there,’" she continued. "And I just started laughing.”
Judge also said she feels anxious about filming, given what she is going through emotionally and how that affects her body.
“When I get like this, my body just shuts down. It just completely shuts down. I can just sit in one place and just stare at the wall for hours,” she said. “And that’s how I feel, and it’s really hard to film like that when you feel like that.”
Catania shared supportive words with Judge and urged her to show her authentic feelings on screen.
“If you need to sit and stare at the wall, I think it should be allowed. Because that’s a part of real life, right? This is reality,” she said.
She added that she appreciated seeing Judge’s “vulnerable side.”
“Whatever decision you make, I stand behind you,” Catania told her.
