Tamra Judge revealed that a producer asked her to watch her drinking on Real Housewives of Orange County. Her revelation surprised many fans given how hard she went after Shannon Beador for continuing to drink after her DUI.
In the current season, Tamra accused Shannon of being an alcoholic, and she even ended their friendship over it as she picked up a new one with Alexis Bellino – who’s engaged to Shannon’s ex-boyfriend, John Janssen.
On her Two Ts In A Pod podcast, Tamra shared that a producer asked her to watch her alcohol intake. She hinted that the “pressure” of coming back to the show made her drink “more than normal.”
Tamra addressed the subject with co-host Teddi Mellencamp as they discussed Real Housewives of Dubai star Caroline Brooks’ drinking in the recent season.
“Andy [Cohen, at the RHODubai reunion] asks Brooks how her state of mind was during the first half of the season. I appreciated Brooks in this moment,” said Teddi, via Reality Tea.
“Yes, [Brooks] did admit to the fact that she was drinking more than usual,” Tamra added.
“I was actually surprised that Andy said producers even told [Brooks] that,” said Teddi.
Tamra then explained, “That must have been a problem during the time of filming. My first season back last year, actually, I was so nervous cause I felt so much pressure on me that I drank more than normal. I remember Luke telling me, ‘Watch your drinking.’”
In a past interview with Extra, Shannon suggested that Tamra was using her DUI as a storyline for herself.
“Tamra has this narrative that she just keeps repeating, saying, ‘Shannon has an issue with alcohol.’ And she is correct that I was using alcohol to cope, and I’ve openly admitted that multiple times. The problem is that there’s a new narrative now, and Tamra seems to be stuck in the past,” said Shannon at the time. “I think if Tamra wasn’t talking about me, I don’t know really what else she’d be talking about this season.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Thursday nights on Bravo.
