Love Island star Tasha Ghouri has opened up on her split from Andrew Le Page, admitting that she was in a "really bad place" after the news of their break-up was became public
Strictly Come Dancing sensation Tasha Ghouri has candidly shared her struggles following her breakup with Andrew Le Page, revealing the emotional toll it took on her.
The couple first met during their stint on the 2022 series of ITV's Love Island, where viewers witnessed their romance blossom as the pair finished in fourth place.
Unlike many other Love Island couples, Tasha and Andrew's relationship continued to flourish after leaving the show.
Yet, earlier this year, news broke that the two had called it quits. Speaking to Kate Thornton on the White Wine Question Time podcast, Tasha delved into how she coped with the split and its public fallout.
Reflecting on the timing of the breakup, she disclosed: "When the breakup happened, it actually kind of happened around the tour. I just remember pushing it to the back of my head. I didn't really deal with it that well, if I'm honest. When I was on the tour, the first week it kind of got leaked to the press."
Tasha also expressed her feelings about the lack of control over the situation, saying: "I didn't have the control of how it happened. I remember it was just everywhere."
As Kate delved into the personal sentiments of the Strictly celebrity, she inquired if reaching a point where "everybody knows" marked a moment of no return for her relationship, Tasha replied: "And especially when it involves public opinions, they kind of create a narrative and that's what serves them best."
A particular "narrative" gaining traction was the rumour of Tasha dating her fellow Strictly participant, Jamie Borthwick.
ismissing the speculation, she clarified: "And I felt like there was all these narratives happening. Like, the press started making it out like me and Jamie were dating, that was not the case at all. I just felt like I had no voice."
Speaking further on the emotional ramifications, Tasha recounted post-rehearsal evenings during the tour in Birmingham: "I just remember after rehearsals, we were in Birmingham, I'd go to the hotel bar and it sounds really bad, but I literally was drinking wine to make me feel numb. I didn't want to feel emotion. I was just in a really bad place that week. A really, really bad place. I was kind of close to leaving the tour."
In contrast to the discussion about her breakup, Tasha also expressed profound appreciation for her stint on the BBC programme, candidly sharing that she jumped at the chance, saying "absolutely, I would love to".
Tasha celebrated a successful run on the dance show as she made it through to the final with her dancing partner, Aljaž Škorjanec.
However, it wasn't to be as they were narrowly beaten to the top spot by Dianne Buswell and stand-up comedian Chris McCausland, who triumphed with the Glitterball trophy in the final held in December.
