Taylor Swift live updates: 'Life of a Showgirl,' 'New Heights' podcast debut 'breaks the internet'

We need to calm down after Taylor Swift’s “New Heights” debut.

The global superstar joined boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason, on their podcast Wednesday for the first time, for a conversation that lasted more than two hours.

We laughed, we cried (she did!), we felt like we were sitting around their kitchen table.

Keep reading for a play-by-play of the two-hour podcast, and everything you need to know about “Life of a Showgirl”:

Taylor Swift reacts to Jason Kelce saying cats are poisonous — they can explain

In a very inside-joke-y moment in the podcast, Taylor Swift shared her reaction to Jason Kelce telling his kids that cats are poisonous.

Talking on the latest "New Heights" episode about when the retired NFL star's young daughters met her cats, the Grammy winner said, "It was actually a great challenge because as soon as I got the kids around the cats, it was my goal to prove to them that they're not poisonous.

"And there is no better way to prove that than to just hand them Benjamin, my rag doll cat, who lets humans hold them like he's a baby."

Swift said her "favorite thing" is when Kelce's daughter Bennett (pictured) comes up to her and says in a toddler voice, "I find Benjamin."

Swift explained that her "favorite thing" is when Kelce's daughter Bennett comes up to her and says in a toddler voice, "I find Benjamin."

"And [Bennett is] just over there, lying with him and petting him and holding him," she said. "The cats are so good with kids, they're like dragging them."

The "Lover" songstress shared that she also pointed out to the former athlete's kids that none of her cats had bitten them, adding, "And if [they] did bite you, [they] wouldn't be poisonous."

Jason shares four daughters -- Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley -- with Kylie Kelce.

Taylor Swift's final podcast thoughts: Jason Kelce's bikini wax

For Taylor Swift's final thoughts on "New Heights" — it's Jason Kelce's bikini wax recovery.

When the host asked the singer at the very end if she had any questions for him and his brother, her boyfriend Travis, she asked Jason how his "wax is growing in."

The retired NFL athlete revealed last month that he got a bikini wax for the first time because he lost a bet with his former teammate Beau Allen.

Taylor Swift asked Jason Kelce how he was recovering from getting a bikini wax for the first time during her appearance on the "New Heights" podcast.

Jason also had to rock a speedo at a charity event to raise money for the Eagles Autism Foundation in June as part of the bet.

Swift said she wanted to make sure Jason wasn't getting any ingrown hairs.

"When you go from fur to no fur at all ... don't tell us too much. How are we doing?" she asked.

Jason replied that he wasn't "managing" the situation and just letting nature take its course.

"Fortunately for me, my hair grows fast," he said. "It's coarse, it's got a texture that was difficult for a couple of weeks — very itchy — but we've passed that phase now."

Jason admitted he wouldn't do it again, though he said he was treated with "the utmost respect and class" while undergoing the service.

"I don't think it's going to be a recurring bit," he shared as Travis openly laughed at him.

"I also don't think I'm going to find myself in a Speedo ever again."

Swifties cannot calm down after Taylor Swift's 'New Heights' episode

Swifties can't contain their excitement after Taylor Swift detailed her forthcoming album, "The Life of a Showgirl," on the Aug. 13 podcast episode of "New Heights."

"I’ve never felt so overwhelmed by information overload but i am so happy right now wow i just love taylor swift (sic)," one person wrote via X, as a second chimed in, "OHHH WE ARE SO BACK."

Gushing over the pop icon's album cover art, another added, "Taylor Swift, you know you're a TOTAL HOTTIE, right?"

Others speculated that Swift's 12-track album would secure her the award for album of the year at the 2026 Grammys.

"So album of the year?" a fan wrote.

'Weird' Taylor Swift jokes she arrived to the Eras Tour stage in a cleaning cart because she 'likes sneaking around'

By Jolie Zenna

Taylor Swift revealed on "New Heights" that her arrival to the Eras Tour stage via a cleaning cart at each show was her own "weird idea."

It started because she wanted to "romanticize and curate" the images of the concert that the internet would see of the tour, and she didn't want to "give away her first outfit and first look" when she was walking up the ramp behind the stage, the singer told boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason.

She wanted fans to be "surprised and delighted" to see what the first era would be, and that for her it was about "preserving the sanctity" of the special moment.

What started out as an entrance for the very first Eras show in Glendale, Arizona on March 17, 2023, ended up being the entrance for every show because Swift "got attached to it."

"There's a weird little side of me that likes sneaking around. And I think the fans found it funny, like 'We've come to see a weirdo in concert. Why is she doing that?'" she joked.

Did Taylor Swift secretly play the bear in "Happy Gilmore 2" alongside boyfriend Travis Kelce? She addressed speculation on Wednesday's episode of the "New Heights" podcast.

Swift laughed off the rumor, saying, "I can deny. This is one of those [rumors] where we'll send it to each other and be like, 'Hey, did you hear I was the bear in there?' [Travis is] like, 'Yeah, you hear we bought a house in Lake Como?' At this point, we're just like, 'Of course they think I'm inside of a bear costume.'"

She added that she's "honored" that people thought she was a part of the film, which Kelce had a role in, because she "loved that movie so much."

As for the real person inside the bear? "Whoever did the bear acting was exquisite," Swift quipped.

Taylor Swift praises Jason Kelce chugging beers the first time they met: 'I think it was your best moment'

By Lindsey Kupfer

Taylor Swift loved meeting Jason Kelce for the first time while he chugged beers and held up babies for her to meet during a Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game in January 2024.

Swift recalled her meeting boyfriend Travis Kelce's brother for the first time during her appearance on the "New Heights" podcast, when he made quite the impression. Jason at one point was shirtless in the snow and roared as he held a beer.

Taylor Swift recalled the first time she met Jason Kelce when he epically chugged beers and went shirtless in the snow at a Kansas City Chiefs game.

"One of the first things I saw was you say to [your wife] Kylie, 'I was just shotgunning beers with the Bills Mafia and I really want to go through one of the fire tables. I want to jump through it. I want to jump onto the flaming table,'" Swift recalled. "And she goes, 'OK. Can we not do that right now?'"

Swift said Jason and Kylie were exactly who she thought they would be, calling them the "realest, the smartest, the coolest."

"You're fantastic. Obviously, you know that," she continued.

She later marveled about the epic moment Jason jumped from the window into the crowd to be with fans.

"I've never seen someone so big move so fast," she said in awe.

"I think it was your best moment and I'm very lucky to have gotten to see it," Taylor told Jason. Getty Images

"And all of a sudden you're out there in the snow, you're handing me children through the window .... 'Whose kid is that Jason? Do you know where this kid came from?'"

"I think it was your best moment and I'm very lucky to have gotten to see it," she continued.

Taylor Swift says 'The Life of a Showgirl' is made up of 'everything that's going on behind the curtain'

Taylor Swift candidly shared the theme of her forthcoming album, "The Life of a Showgirl," on the Aug. 13 podcast episode of "New Heights."

"It's everything that was going on behind the curtain," she told hosts Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce.

The "Lover" songstress claimed her goal of the 12-track album was for it to be "so infectious" that listeners are "almost angry at it."

"And lyrics that are just as vivid but crisp and focused and completely intentional," she added.

Travis Kelce reveals how 'The Life of a Showgirl' is 'a complete 180' from 'The Tortured Poets Department'

Taylor Swift revealed that she went "all out" for her new album, "The Life of a Showgirl," and Travis Kelce couldn't agree more.

"I was so proud of the music and so excited about this project from a creative stand point, that I was just like 'all hands on deck, we're going all out, this is a full send,'" the singer said about the making of her new album.

"I care about this record more than I can even overstate," she continued.

Taylor Swift talks about her new album.

"It's so much fun," Kelce added with a smile. "I understand what she's saying. I've been fortunate enough to listen to every single song, so I know they're all 12 bangers."

"It's a lot more upbeat," he shared. It's a lot more like fun, pop, excitement and I think it's a complete 180 from a lot of the songs on ['The Tortured Poet's Department'] for sure."

"Oh yeah," the songwriter agreed, sweetly adding that her "life is more upbeat." She later admitted that her albums "mimic" her personal life, so it's safe to say things are looking good for the couple.
