Taysom Hill's 43-yard run against the Atlanta Falcons is the play of the day

There are officially 43 days until the New Orleans Saints kickoff their 2025 season against the Arizona Cardinals on Sept 7. With that in mind, one of Taysom Hill's many runs against the Atlanta Falcons is the play of the day.

It's his 43-yard run he executed against them in 2020 that gets todays spotlight. In that game, he was actually the starting quarterback of the team, as he was battling for that spot at the time. The run came when he faced pressure and had to escape, making the run a classic Taysom Hill play.

His taking advantage of the wide open space isn't anything new for Hill, espically when facing the long-time division rivals. For pretty much his entire career, the quarterback-turned tight end has managed to tear the Falcons a new one.

Taysom Hill has a history of strong games agaisnt the Atlanta Falcons

Taysom Hill has been a passer, runner and receiver during his time in the Saints offense. He's done all of them well against the Falcons. Most notably, Hill has played the Falcons three times as a quarterback. He's walked away with three wins.

The Saints swiss army knife didn't start a game at quarterback until 2020. In that season, Hill started four games, half of which came against Atlanta. Those were the two best starts of that span. Hill's 43-yard run came in the second of those starts. He finished that game with 232 yards through the air, two passing touchdowns and 83 rushing yards.

Hill is no stranger to multi-touchdown games against the Falcons either. This past season, Hill had two rushing touchdowns versus the Falcons in week four. What makes that performence more impressive is Hill only touched the ball six times. That was one of three games HIll scored two or more touchdown passes.
