The Wait Is Almost Over As The Fallout From Season 1 Is Explored

In terms of the story, The Last of Us season 2 takes place five years after season 1. The fallout from The Last of Us season 1's ending still needs to be explored after Joel kills all the Fireflies and lies to Ellie about what he did. The divisive Abby needs to be introduced in the show, with her character forever changing Joel and Ellie's lives. Abby's inclusion on the posters alongside Joel and Ellie further cements how integral she will be in the upcoming episodes and in the overall narrative.

Our Take On The Last Of Us Season 2's Release Date

The Last Of Us Will Be Just As Prominent In 2025 As It Was In 2023

As April draws closer, it is satisfying to now have an exact release date and to know when The Last of Us is officially returning. Season 1 was one of the best shows in 2023 and is still considered an all-time great video game adaptation. If season 2 is just as successful at adapting the source material, it has the potential to be just as well-received. The Last of Us season 2's story will be one of the most-talked about of 2025 and will likely also become HBO's most-watched show of the entire year.
