The Walking Dead: Dead City has unleashed its first full trailer for season 2, which premieres May 4 on AMC, and it appears as if Maggie and Negan aren’t the only big names returning.
Lucille is back! Or, at least, a replica of Lucille. The infamous barbed wire-covered baseball bat of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan was burned by its owner back in season 10 of The Walking Dead in the “Here’s Negan” episode, but a new replica appears throughout the new trailer — and it appears to be a tricked-out version.
At least that is judging by one scene in which Negan says, "You see, power equals power. So if you ain't with us, I guess you're in for a bit of a shock." An enemy then grabs the barbed wire with his bare hands — which already sounds like a bad idea, btw — only for the wire to shock him backward. That (along with hearing Negan recite his famous "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe") would be the big headline to come out of the trailer — if it weren’t for the very last shot. That’s when we see Lauren Cohan’s Maggie slowly and cautiously raise Lucille 2.0 into frame. (See the entire trailer below.)

It is a truly shocking sight considering her own history with the bat. Negan used Lucille to bash in the face and brains of Maggie’s husband Glenn (Steven Yeun) right in front of her in The Walking Dead's infamous lineup scene from the season 6 finale and season 7 premiere. To say Maggie has had a somewhat rocky relationship with the man who murdered her hubby would be putting it mildly, but the two have found times to work together when necessary. However, holding up the instrument of death itself — even if just a replica — is moving to a whole different level.

While the Negan-Maggie-Lucille trifecta will be in full force, season 2 of Dead City will have some new faces as well, and the trailer gives our first extended look at Sons of Anarchy's Kim Coates. Coates will be playing a New York City gang leader named Bruegel, and his declaration of "I dare any mainlander to set foot on this island" certainly sounds like something a gang leader would say. That declaration doesn’t sound like good news for Maggie. Then again, she may have a new weapon at her disposal.
