When it comes to the world of the Real Housewives it can be hard to make an everlasting friendship. But for Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp, the bond formed easily. Perhaps it was because both were on separate franchises. Teddi held a diamond on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And Tamra was center orange on the Real Housewives of Orange County. The two have been through thick or thin. And now Tamra is standing by Teddi’s side as she fights for her health.
God brought Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp together
Although both women lived in Southern California for most of their adult lives, they didn’t run into each other until 2018. Both moms ran in different circles, but it seemed a force stronger than them brought them together for their first meeting. The Two T’s in a Pod podcast hosts first met at Mariners Church in Mission Viejo. At the time Tammy Sue took to her Instagram to tell fans, “Look who I ran into @teddimellencamp #GodsWork. I’ve been wanting to meet this inspirational couple. Even more beautiful in person.”
Teddi also took to her social media as she shared a photo of her encounter. She wrote, “Loved bumping into the pint-sized and baptized @tamrajudge at church today! Such a strong woman and even more beautiful in person.” The two women quickly learned that they had a lot in common. Both are mothers, share the same faith, and have a love for health and fitness. It was inevitable that they’d become fast friends. Teddi even knew her way around Orange County since she had a lovely beach house retreat in Dana Point.
A Real Housewives podcast is born
In 2020 Teddi was released from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. At the time, a source told The Daily Mail, “The network has not been impressed with her performance on the show. They considered cutting her last season but gave her one last chance.” Coincidentally, during the same year, Tamra was also fired from the Real Housewives of Orange County. The move hit the fan favorite extremely hard. She spoke out via The Sun, saying, “It’s kind of like a death. I’ve been in the Bravo family for 12 years.” Both women were mourning the loss of the spotlight and seemed to grow closer over their shared pain. However, the two bright Bravo stars figured out a way to team up, capitalize on their friendship, and stay in the Bravoverse.
After a year of being away from the cameras, the duo announced in 2021 that they were launching their own podcast. And this is where Two T’s in a Pod was born. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Tamra wrote, “Introducing Two T’s in a Pod! Who better than two sh*t stirring ex Housewives to spill the piping hot unfiltered tea than TNT, Teddi, and yours truly? We’re fired up and lawyered up!” Teddi wrote in her own post, “Two T’s are definitely better than one, especially when you’re spilling some, so can’t wait for you to hear my new podcast … We’re using our experience in the trenches to give our hot takes and opinions (and we know Tamra HAS OPINIONS!!) on all things Housewives!” The women were baptized by fire as neither one had ever done such a show. But the formula worked, and their podcast has been very successful.
Tamra Judge is supporting Teddi Mellencamp
Recently, Teddi announced some sad news, noting on February 12 that she was going to have surgery to remove brain tumors. She wrote on her Instagram, “For the last several weeks, I’ve been dealing with severe debilitating headaches. Yesterday, the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization.” Naturally, her best friend is taking the news quite hard. Tamra took to their podcast earlier this week to share, “I just don’t even know what I would do without her.” Fans have been asking for an update, but Tamra has still been processing the news.
She told fans while hosting the podcast, “I’m so sorry. I know you’re concerned, but it’s not my place. It’s not my place. All I can do is pray on her and love her like all of her friends are doing. And that’s it.” According to the RHOC star, Teddi really wants the podcast to continue. She shared, “It’s her pride and joy, and she’s so good at it, and she wants the momentum to keep going. And she just wants everybody to know that when she can get back, she’ll be back.”
One thing is certain: no matter what happens, these two will be best friends.
