Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave makes first formal appearance after brain surgery.

Teddi Mellencamp, known for her role on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” continues to face her stage 4 metastatic melanoma diagnosis with courage and grace. Despite undergoing intensive treatments, including immunotherapy and surgeries, the 43-year-old former reality star reunited with her former castmates at Kyle Richards’ daughter Alexia Umansky’s engagement party.

Mellencamp’s Treatment Journey

Despite the seriousness of her condition, Mellencamp has revealed that her body is responding well to immunotherapy. According to People, recent scans indicate significant shrinkage in both brain and lung tumors, with one lung tumor now barely visible.

Throughout her health journey, Mellencamp has been transparent about the emotional and physical challenges she faces. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she openly discussed the impact of her diagnosis on her family life, particularly the difficulty of being present for her three young children. “I don’t think you understand the debilitating pain that I feel some days thinking about the fact that, like, my kids,’” she said. “That is extremely frightening. My kids are young.”

Despite these challenges, Mellencamp finds strength in her support system, including her close circle of friends, former co-stars, and estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, who has been by her side during treatments.

Raising Awareness

Mellencamp has used her platform to advocate for mental health awareness alongside her cancer journey. In a recent appearance on her podcast, Two Ts in a Pod, co-hosted with fellow Bravo alum Tamra Judge, she discussed the emotional toll of living with a terminal illness. She emphasized the importance of therapy, maintaining a routine, and finding joy in small moments. “It’s not just about the scans or the next appointment,” she said. “It’s about living with intention every day—even when that day is hard.”

Her openness has not only resonated with fans but also with public health organizations. The American Academy of Dermatology recently highlighted Mellencamp in their spring newsletter, citing her transparency as a “powerful example” of early detection and the life-saving importance of regular skin checks.

Looking ahead, Mellencamp will continue immunotherapy treatments every four weeks for the next two years, with regular scans to monitor progress. She remains hopeful and committed to sharing her experience, aiming to raise awareness and encourage others to be proactive about their health.
