Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp has shared heartbreaking news with fans: doctors have discovered five new tumors—three in her brain and two in her lungs—just weeks after she underwent emergency brain surgery.
The 43-year-old mother of three has been publicly battling melanoma since 2022. The latest tumors were detected following a CT scan, which revealed that not all brain tumors could be removed surgically. “I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren’t able to be removed via surgery,” Mellencamp wrote on Instagram. “I also have 2 tumors in my lung.” She added that treatment with immunotherapy and radiation will begin immediately.
Despite the severity of the diagnosis, Mellencamp remains resilient. “I am feeling positive that I will win this battle,” she said, sharing a photo wearing a wig and even joking about her ability to remember all of Angelina Jolie’s children’s names. “I got this wig (I like the short hair, just not the bald spots),” she wrote.
Her announcement was met with an outpouring of love and support from fellow Bravo stars. Kyle Richards recalled a touching moment post-surgery, when Mellencamp correctly named Jolie’s children despite memory confusion. Dorit Kemsley told her, “You’re stronger than you realize. I know you’ll win.” Trishelle Cannatella praised her tenacity: “Only you would have brain surgery one week and be jogging on a treadmill the next.”
The daughter of music icon John Cougar Mellencamp, Teddi has undergone nearly 20 surgeries over the past three years. After initially being diagnosed with stage II melanoma in October 2022, her battle intensified with a wave of new diagnoses and surgeries, including the most recent one in February 2025 that removed four brain tumors.
Despite the setbacks, Mellencamp continues to be transparent with fans. She has kept her 1.1 million Instagram followers updated through every twist of her journey—from showing post-surgery scars to sharing moments of joy and anxiety. She recently revealed she’s preparing for her 16th surgery on August 19 and is committed to staying strong for her children: Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 5.
In a message to her followers, she urged everyone to stay on top of their health. “Please, please book your skin checks, book your mammograms, your OB/GYN appointments, your eye doctor appointments.”
As Teddi Mellencamp faces her most daunting chapter yet, her fighting spirit remains unshaken.
