Teddi Mellencamp is finding reasons to smile. This time, it’s thanks to something small, but powerful.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, who’s been battling stage 4 metastatic melanoma, got emotional this week while sharing a new health update. After months of treatment, hair loss, and surgeries, she recently revealed something unexpected that brought her joy: her hair is growing back.
Teddi Mellencamp’s celebrating new hair growth amid her battle with cancer
On Monday, Teddi posted a powerful update to Instagram, highlighting progress many might overlook—new baby hairs sprouting along her scalp.
“Today was the first day I noticed a real change in my hair regrowth,” she wrote alongside before-and-after photos from May 12 and June 16. “This little bit of hair growth … made me smile. It’s amazing what my body can do.” She’s been sharing periodic updates on her grueling battle.
The side-by-side shots showed not only new hair but also visible scars from brain surgery to remove four tumors.
“Cancer comes with so many emotions: anger, sadness, loneliness,” she admitted in the caption. “I feel like I live in a fog, and I can’t help but beat myself up on all of the ways I am falling short. I just desperately want to be back to my usual self.” She recently shared that on the hardest days, she chooses to wear a wig.
Fans flooded the comments with support, many sharing their own cancer experiences. “Keep up the fight … immunotherapy is amazing,” wrote one. Another added, “My hair looks exactly the same after 6 months of grueling chemo … prayers for us both.”
As Teddi fights for her health, she’s also navigating a new romance. She recently confirmed she’s dating someone new after being seen in a cozy moment with a mystery man. On her Two T’s In A Pod podcast, she clapped back at those criticizing her for dating or even fostering a dog.
“People have been coming for me,” she said. “If you want to date … life doesn’t stop because you have cancer.” She and her estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, are in the process of divorcing.
Whether it’s hair growth, healing, or haters – it seems Teddi’s managing it all in her own way.
