Teddi Mellencamp just shared another update on her battle with skin cancer. In October 2022, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum first revealed she had stage II melanoma. As with any cancer diagnosis, the news was shocking, and what came next was grueling.
In April 2024, Teddi had her 15th melanoma surgery. At the time, she shared, “Trying to be positive and happy I can do this one awake. I just cry everytime [sic] when I get the shots for some reason. Not scared of shots, it’s just the knowing they are about to cut into me again right after I get one.” It would seem her feelings have since evolved all the more.
Teddi Mellencamp gets vulnerable over her latest melanoma surgery
Teddi recently shared an update with her fans on her skin cancer. She shared multiple photos and videos on her IG story ahead of her melanoma removal. “Because I can’t stand going under anesthesia, the method we’re doing for this one is a little pain medication prior,” she said, resting against a pillow in her car.
“Then they do local anesthesia and then they do the removal.” Despite all the difficulty of the process, Teddi admitted that she “thoroughly” enjoyed the recovery portion. Teddi said “that first shot” was the worst part of having a melanoma removed without general anesthesia. “I don’t know why, it always makes me so emotional. It hurts.”
“I’m trying to keep you guys all in the mix and in the know.” Teddi always prioritized awareness amid her battle with skin cancer. On the same day as her removal, she posted some pink spots on her skin, showing her followers how benign they truly looked. “These pink spots turned light brown,” she explained, also showing the first of her 16 melanomas.
Teddi also expressed her deep gratitude to the doctors who helped her throughout all of this.
