TEEN Mom Jenelle Evans is struggling with serious health issues over her estranged husband David Eason's abuse, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.
After a judge granted the Teen Mom 2 alum a domestic violence protective order against David on May 16, The U.S. Sun exclusively obtained the court documents explaining the terms.
One argument Jenelle's attorney, Brian Pettijohn, made in her case was that the 32-year-old has been physically ill while dealing with the fallout of her marriage to David, 35.
The court’s ruling granting the restraining order found that Jenelle has experienced a "fear of continued harassment that rises to such a level as to inflict substantial emotional distress."
It further notes this was allegedly due to an "ongoing pattern of badgering and verbal abuse" via "electronic mediums," referring to David's repeated callouts on social media.
The ruling also says because of David's erratic behavior, Jenelle has suffered from "esophageal gastric issues" that have caused violent vomiting.
CONCERNING HEALTH ISSUES
Jenelle hasn't spoken publicly about these health problems specifically, though she has been candid about experiencing "esophageal spasms," and at the time, she couldn't pinpoint the cause.
"Good news: I don't have acid reflux," the MTV alum shared on her Instagram Stories last May.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease, commonly referred to as GERD, occurs "when the sphincter muscle at the lower end of your esophagus relaxes at the wrong time," which allows "stomach acid to back up into your esophagus," according to The Mayo Clinic.
Jenelle continued, "Bad news: They still don't know why I have esophagus spasms," which are "painful contractions within the muscular tube connecting your mouth and stomach," as per the medical center.
It's unclear what causes esophageal spasms, though they might be related to the "atypical functioning of nerves that control the muscles you use when you swallow."
The TV personality also previously revealed she suffered from anxiety and stress over personal matters at home.
Teen Mom Jenelle Evans granted restraining order against David Eason for herself and the kids as judge outlines rules
On Thursday, the U.S. Sun exclusively reported that Jenelle was granted a six-month restraining order against David after their third court appearance.
David requested a continuance during the first two hearings to give him more time to seek legal representation.
Despite the delays, David still didn't obtain an attorney by their latest court date, but the judge moved forward with the proceedings.
The U.S. Sun spoke to Jenelle's attorney after the hearing, who revealed that David is forbidden from having any contact with his estranged wife, as stated in the protective order.
Additionally, the order states that David cannot post or talk about Jenelle online or "interfere with the minor child(ren) residing with or in the custody of" Jenelle, meaning her three children: Jace, 14; Kaiser, 9, and Ensley, 7.
Ensley is the former couple's only child together, as Jenelle's older boys are from previous relationships.
David must also surrender his "firearms, ammunition, and gun permits" to the sheriff and could be "charged with a Class H felony" and face "up to 39 months" in prison if he fails to do so.
JENELLE'S CLAIMS
Jenelle and David split in February and he was served a summons for the order of protection last month.
David has been living on the pair's boat since their separation, which is where he was issued the summons.
In Jenelle's initial petition for the restraining order, she detailed her ex's alleged violent behavior and claimed he ran over a puppy while fleeing their North Carolina home after an argument.
She also claimed that David's 16-year-old daughter, Maryssa, who was home at the time, witnessed the incident.
On top of that, Jenelle alleged that David was "emotionally abusive" toward her and her kids, often insulting them, calling them names, and even allegedly told Jenelle to end her life.
The Teen Mom star hasn't addressed the ruling on her platforms, though she has posted TikTok videos of her out with her kids and partying with friends.
