Teen Mom Shocker: Leah Messer Struggles as Twins Enter the ‘Dating Era’!

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” star Leah Messer is having a hard time with her 15-year-old twins entering their dating era.

Messer talked about her struggles with her twin daughters, Aliannah Hope Simms and Aleeah Grace Simms, growing up on the February 27 episode of the MTV reality show.

During the episode, the kids attended their first high school homecoming dance.

Ali went to the dance with a female friend. However, Aleeah opted to go with her new boyfriend, which was hard for Messer.

During a confessional, Messer admitted, “I’m having a difficult time accepting this whole relationship. Right now, it’s too young. Have fun, have a social life, pursue your dreams and goals.”

“I got married by the time I was 18 and 19 twice before the age of 20,” Messer added. “I know that they won’t repeat the same cycle, but it’s so easy to fall into that trap. All it takes is an unplanned pregnancy, actually.”

Leah isn’t the first girl in her family to experience pregnancy as a teen. Her mother and grandmother also experienced teenage pregnancies.

“I think that 13, 14, 15 year old should be worried about their grades and having fun and having a social life,” Messer said during the confessional. “But I know that the only way to experience what you want in a relationship is by dating, right? I wasn’t prepared for it to happen, but it’s here. So, I guess we’ll enter the dating era.”

Corey Simms Told His Daughters The ‘Basic Dad Rules’ Before First Dance

Messer’s ex, Corey Simms – the father of Ali and Aleeah – also made a cameo in the February 27 episode of “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.”

Simms stopped by Messer’s home in Charleston, West Virginia to see his daughters in their homecoming dresses before the dance. He gave the girls “the basic dad rules” while he was there.

“So for the dance, you know the basic dad rules of be good. Don’t do nothing you shouldn’t do. Don’t feel pressured into doing something that you shouldn’t do, that you know you shouldn’t do,” Simms told the twins.

“Hands above the waist, stand at least a half a foot, probably, apart. We’re not twerking. We’re not grinding,” Simms added.

Aleeah poked back at her dad and said, “Hey, I’m gonna twerk.”

Simms responded, “We’re not. This is not the club. This is a high school dance.”

Leah Messer Gave Daughters a ‘Safe Environment’ To Go After High School Dance

Messer hosted an after-party for the girls in her basement after the homecoming dance.

Ali, who Messer described as an introvert, opted to have some quiet time at a friend’s house and chose not to attend. However, Aleeah came home after the dance and brought a large group of friends with her.

Shortly after arriving, Messer asked the group of girls if they wanted to get cozy and put on pajamas. The teen girl group then ate pizza and played games.

“I want them to have fun in a safe environment. It’s important to me, number one, and that they have a great time,” Leah said on “Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.”

“I told them, when I was their age, I got a worker’s permit. I started at the grocery store and then went to McDonald’s. That was my childhood and I’m not saying anything bad. I think that adversity made me who I am today so that doesn’t change anything,” she said.

“However, they get to experience adversity that looks a little different, right? And I think this is where we break the teenage pregnancy cycle, here,” Messer added.
