Teen Mom star Mackenzie McKee can finally say both her twins are home, five weeks after their birth.
“Home! With 2 healthy babies,” she wrote via Facebook on Wednesday, July 9, alongside a photo of the two of them. “God is good.”
Mackenzie and husband Khesanio Hall, both 30, welcomed twin daughters Ja’Kharie and Ja’Meikah on June 2 via an emergency C-section. Because the babies were born prematurely, they were placed in the NICU. Mackenzie revealed in late June that one had been allowed to come home while the other had to remain in the hospital.
“Welcome to the world Ja’Kharie Angie Hall and Ja’Meikah Angella Hall,” Mackenzie wrote via Instagram on June 4. “Both named after our moms, the most beautiful ladies who mean everything to us.”
“Mom and Dad are over the moon and so happy,” she continued. “The cries we cried when we heard those first cries. We are so in love.”
That same day, Hall took to Instagram as well, posting a carousel of photos from the hospital, including a couple shots of the twins in the NICU.
“The moment I heard their cries was the moment I realized I was not in a dream and this is reality,” he wrote in the caption. “Baby girls, I promise to love and protect you until the very day I die.”
“You have done so well through this pregnancy and I am super proud of you momma,” he added. “I know how much you will love and care for our babies and I can’t wait to see them in 10 years then 20 then 30 and more and more!”
Mackenzie, who also shares children Gannon, 13, Jaxie, 11, and Broncs, 8, with ex-husband Josh McKee, has been open about her pregnancy struggles this time around. In May, she revealed she gained 20 pounds in water weight in the span of two days.
“Over the past 48 hours my body has taken a rapid turn of preeclampsia symptoms. I have gained 20 pounds in 48 hours of water weight,” she said in a Snapchat video in May. “So I was looking at my feet, ankles and legs and I just started seeing them get bigger and bigger and bigger throughout the day. And then it got to a point where I can’t walk.”
She added that she even needed help putting clothes on, showering and using the bathroom.
“I am not in good shape and that’s on top of the pain of the contractions,” she revealed.
