Here are a few thoughts from the Maven with the Stanley Cup Final in process and the offseason looming.

Ten Impertinent Rangers Questions On Pertinent – Like It Or Not – Topics:

1. Of course Blueshirts fans have a rooting interest in tonight's Game 2 of the Cup Final in Beautiful, Downtown Sunrise 'neath the sheltering palms.

2. My closet pals in Rangerville are pulling for the Panthers. Long Island-based Solon Mihas has Exhibit A; and he has logic on his side.

3. "I rooted hard for New York in the last round," says Mihas, "and my team lost. I figure that if my team lost, I want them to have lost to THE BEST. The Cats are the best."

4. As we continue our Rangers post mortems, one of my inquisitive buddies asks a good question of the Seventh Avenue high command and not about Matt Rempe.

5. The good query: How come in the homestretch-playoffs "Stretch" Rempe got all kinds of auditions and "Stretch" Adam Edstrom was as forgotten as Zac Jones?

6. In the estimation of some veteran Rangers-watchers, Hartford Wolfpack-chained Edstrom would have been more useful than the estimable Kaapo Kakko.

7. I know few more intense, nor long-term Blueshirt supporters than Sean McCaffrey who says, "Panarin, Zibanejad, Trouba and Kakko choked – just to name a few."

8. Equally intense, elder statesman, Rangers fan David Perlmutter of Greenwich Village rejects the above charges with equal fervor and equally intense – NAY-NAY – vehemence.

9. The Maven declares the debate over and done with. The post mortems should end. If Florida wins the Cup, expect Vladimir Tarasenio to somehow come back to Broadway.

10. Today's last look in my rear view mirror produces visions of Jonathan Quick playing goal in mid-season as well as what Igor Shesterkin did in the playoffs!
