Tennessee Titans Teammate Speaks Out About QB Will Levis

If there is one big concern about the Tennessee Titans heading into 2024, it’s quarterback Will Levis.

No one really knows what to expect from Levis, who supplanted Ryan Tannehill as the Titans’ starter midway through last season and posted mixed results.

Tennessee has had a busy offseason, adding weapons for Levis like wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd. It also shored up the offensive line and even made a significant defensive addition, swinging a trade for cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.

On paper, the Titans actually have a fairly impressive roster, and they could be sleeper playoff contenders next season.

But that largely depends on the play of Levis.

The good news is that Ridley seems to really like his new signal-caller.

Calvin Ridley Speaks Positively About Will Levis

When asked about Levis, Ridley had all good things to say.

“Will’s real cool, man,” Ridley said, via A to Z Sports. “I didn’t know him at all. He’s just a real cool guy. Forget all the ball. I like being around him. It’s easy to be around him, talk to him. I just met him, but it feels real comfortable. That’s the biggest thing for me.”

It’s definitely important for receivers to establish a good rapport with their quarterback, and it seems like Ridley is in the process of doing just that.

Ridley was the top wide out on the free-agent market this offseason, and the Titans landed him on a massive four-year, $92 million deal.

The 29-year-old is coming off of an impressive 2023 campaign in which he hauled in 76 receptions for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

But will he be able to post those numbers with Levis throwing him the football?

In nine starts this past season, Levis threw for 1,808 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 58.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 84.2.

Those stats aren’t exactly inspiring, and while Levis did show some promise (particularly when he threw four touchdown passes in his debut), he lacked consistency.

Levis was selected by Tennessee in the second round of the NFL Draft last year, so the Titans expected big things from him right off the bat.

With Ridley, Boyd and DeAndre Hopkins in his receiving corps, Levis certainly has enough weapons to enjoy a successful sophomore campaign.

We’ll see if Will Levis can do just that come September.
