Teresa Giudice on Why She Quit Chicago News Interview

By now, you’ve probably seen that video of Teresa Giudice abruptly leaving an interview with Chicago’s WGN. The interview started off with questions about Real Housewives of New Jersey, but she ended the Zoom call when the reporter asked about her massive tax debts. He asked the question, “How is it that a family doesn’t pay their taxes for years?”

It’s a question plenty of people want to know, but Teresa wasn’t ready to answer it live on WGN. She is, however, ready to clap back at the curious reporter. In a new episode of her podcast, she claimed to have a plan to pay off the debt. She just doesn’t want to answer questions about it.

The RHONJ star broke her silence about the awkward Chicago interview during the latest episode of her podcast, Turning the Tables. According to Teresa, the reporter was out of line for asking about her taxes.

“I’m working to support my four children, and that’s what I was trying to do, and here you are attacking me,” Teresa ranted.

“It’s so wrong,” she continued. “I thought that was so uncalled for, and that’s why I decided to end the phone call.”

For Teresa, what felt particularly frustrating about the line of questioning was the fact that she was only in Chicago to host an event. She was probably hoping the journalist would recognize that she’s trying to correct the mistakes she’s made with the IRS.

“I’m trying to promote the show on the Chicago news, and here’s this man attacking me,” Tre continued. “I’m trying to work to pay my taxes, so what is your problem? Why are you attacking me?”

Earlier this year, we learned that Teresa was hit with a $300,000 tax lien. That was in addition to a massive debt she already owed. Meanwhile, her husband, Luis Ruelas, owes over $2 million to the IRS.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
