The Bachelor’s Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar’s Wedding Vows Revealed: God ‘Answered My Prayers’

Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar’s wedding vows sound straight out of a romance movie — but the couple wrote them without any help from The Bachelor producers.

Shortly after Us Weekly confirmed on Wednesday, June 11, that Shallcross, 28, and Biggar, 30, had quietly tied the knot on May 23 in Austin, Texas, the couple released a video from their nuptials, complete with their poetic vows.

“Kait, from the moment you stepped out of the limo, and I looked into your eyes, those beautiful and unforgettable eyes, I knew something was different,” Shallcross began, according to Bachelor Nation’s behind-the-scenes video from the ceremony. “There was a spark, a calming sense that my life was about to change. And it did.”

The former Bachelor, who proposed to Biggar during the season 27 finale in 2023, revealed, “Since the moment I met you, you’ve made everything more special, more meaningful, more exciting. But what means the most to me is that you love me for exactly who I am. Because of that I’ve never felt more seen, more secure and more sure of anything in my life.”

Shallcross continued: “I thank God every day for the woman he put in my life. A woman who’s thoughtful, caring for everyone, sweet with a little spice, hilarious and too many other qualities to say right now. I’m lucky. I’m blessed to have you in front of me and be my wife. I didn’t think it was possible in my lifetime to have a love like ours with a woman like you. God truly answered my prayers.”

The Bachelorette alum then made a series of vows and promises to his bride while their friends and family watched on at Chapel Dulcinea.

“I promise to always love you for who you are now and for who you are yet to become. I always promise to be your steady place, your rock especially when life gets hard, messy or uncertain,” Shallcross said. “I vow to protect your heart with everything I have and to hold it gently always. I promise to give you all of me, my whole heart, every day, no holding back to show you in the little moments and the big ones how deeply I love you.”

His heartfelt speech didn’t stop there. “I promise to be the best husband and future father I can be for you. I promise to always put you first, not just in words but in how I live and love beside you. I vow to always be in your corner, your teammate, your biggest fan and your safe place,” Shallcross added.

He noted, “Kait, you’ve changed my life in the best way possible. For the rest of my life, I’ll do anything and everything I can to make you feel as deeply loved as you make me feel. Kate, I love you with all my heart and I always will. I can’t wait to do forever with you.”

The couple shared a few sweet glances before Biggar stepped up and expressed her unfiltered feelings for her soon-to-be husband.

“Zach, today I don’t just stand here as your wife. I stand here as your life-long teammate, your biggest fan and your best friend. Our love story has been anything but ordinary,” she started, referring to their reality TV start. “It’s been beautifully unexpected, perfectly imperfect and uniquely ours. You have hands-down been my greatest and most cherished adventure and I can’t wait to see where life takes us. If our beginning is any indication, we’re in for one incredible ride.”

The nurse explained, “Since meeting you, I’ve learned from you in so many ways. But most of all you’ve taught me that love is gentle, patient, kind and unwavering. Because of that I’ve found the safest place my heart has ever known.”

Biggar revealed that she admires “so many things” about her partner, including Shallcross’ “constant desire to want to find a solution to everyone’s problems,” the way he “proudly” wears his “heart on your sleeve and the way you love your family and friends so much.”

She turned to Shallcross, saying, “You are one of the kindest, most gentle souls I’ve ever known. You help me navigate life’s chaos with grace. You keep me grounded when I feel like I’m spinning. You always find the light in things on days when I can’t.”

Biggar gushed, “I know our marriage will be full of unforgettable moments both joyful and challenging. But no matter what life brings our way I have complete faith in the strength of our love that we can get through anything.”

When it came time to make her own vows and promises, she had equally sentimental goals for their future.

“I promise to take your hopes, dreams and goals on with mine to create a life that will make us both happy. I promise to protect your heart the way you have protected mine with tenderness, patience and loyalty,” Biggar stated. “I promise to never fall asleep with a heavy heart between us. To always talk it through and choose us no matter what. I promise to be open and understanding through life’s challenges and communicate with you with nothing but love and respect.”She playfully concluded, “I promise to always put you and our family first, including our fur baby. Baby, I love you with all my heart. I’m so proud to be yours today and for all the days to come.”

After competing on season 19 of The Bachelorette, Shallcross tried his hand as the Bachelor where he fell in love with Biggar. Their romance played out from January to March 2023 and ended in a season finale proposal.

In July of that year, the couple moved in together in Austin and in January 2024 they debuted their new home. Shallcross proposed for a second time in November 2024, this time on a boat with just the two of them.

While the pair initially intended to get hitched in October 2025, Shallcross revealed in January that they decided to back out of their wedding contract.

“We’re planning to get eloped very soon, like very soon, and then we’ll figure out, like, celebration and all that, like the glitz and the glamour,” he said during an appearance on the “Almost Famous” podcast. “It’s not a matter of when, it’s, like, the other stuff and, like, wanting to have all the family from all over come for it.”

Shallcross and Biggar pulled off a somewhat secret wedding last month and hinted at their walk to the altar on social media. Once news broke that they were married, the twosome confirmed it on Wednesday, sharing photos and videos from their big day.
