Enough with the talk about the deadwood core. Here's a short list of The Maven's favorite TRY HARD GUYS.
1. BEST OF ALL: Will Cuylle. He hits; he hits some more and never steps out of fifth gear.
2. OUT OF NOWHERE: Jonny Brodzinski was supposed to be locked in to Hartford, but every time on the ice, he did an NHL trick. Huge upset!
3. RAVES FOR A ROOKIE: Brett Berard played the game like a car without brakes. A 5-9, he's small by NHL standards but has a big heart.
4. UPCOMING STAR: Gabe Perreault deserved more time than Peter Laviolette afforded him but he'll be aces this second time around.
5. THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE: Matt Rempe. Need I say more!
