Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kathy Wakile clarified claims Melissa Gorga made about her last year.
During an interview with Page Six, Kathy Wakile gave her side of the story that Melissa told on Jeff Lewis Live last July.
Melissa was all talk about reuniting with Kathy:
Kathy explained what really went down.
Before Melissa talked to Jeff Lewis last year, she saw Kathy at an event … and didn’t approach her. “I didn’t see them. But, they saw me and didn’t say hello,” explained Kathy.
“The next day, Melissa texts me, which was very nice. She reached out and said how sad it was that we were at the same event, and we walked by each other and didn’t say hello.”
Kathy thought to herself, “Shame on [Joe Gorga, her first cousin] if he saw me and didn’t come up to me.”
Timeline👏:
Melissa texted Kathy, “I think that there are things we should talk about. Would you be open?” Kathy agreed to talk to her estranged cousin-in-law.
“So we met for lunch. [Then,] she went on Jeff Lewis and acted” like Jeff suggesting the cousins meet up was a fresh thought. “Oh, that’s a good idea, Jeff,” Melissa said, “when we had already had our lunch,” Kathy claimed.
Melissa was “making it seem like it was Jeff’s idea” to meet up, but they “had already met” and “cleared the air.”
The vibe:
Though Kathy described the encounter as “fine”, she doesn’t “think it went as [Melissa] would’ve liked it to go.” Kathy did note, however, that there wasn’t “anything harsh said. [She just] reminded her of the things that went down.”
Melissa may need Kathy, but Kathy doesn’t need Melissa:
Kathy thinks Melissa could have reached out for selfish purposes. “I think that could’ve been a really good part of it. Could’ve been, like, a potential storyline, but I’m not a storyline. I am my own life.”
Regarding the lot purchase and house building, Kathy pointed out that she and Rich had already been living in the neighborhood for a decade. “So if anything,” she argued, “they moved to our neighborhood.”
