The Colts shared a tribute to Vontae Davis' first birthday since his tragic death

Monday was, of course, Memorial Day, where Americans honor and mourn those who have lost their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

But it was also the birthday of former Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis, who tragically passed away earlier this year. And the team decided to share a tribute via their X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

Davis would have turned 36 years old on Monday, but the former Colts CB was found dead at his grandmother's home on April 1st of this year. Davis became a Colt on August 27th, 2012, after being traded from the Miami Dolphins.

He might not have ended his career in Indianpolis, but he left a massive impression on the team and their fan base. He would go on to spend six seasons in Indianapolis, where he established himself as one of the best CBs in the franchise's history. Which included two Pro Bowl selections in 2014 and 2015.

Like the Colts, many fans and those who knew him personally shared a post to honor Davis on his first birthday since his passing.
