The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos is practicing handing out roses ahead of her season by playfully offering one to The Bachelor season 28 star Joey Graziadei on his birthday on Instagram. Joan, a 61-year-old private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland, debuted as a contestant on Gerry Turner's Golden Bachelor season. Although they developed a strong connection, Joan had to leave the show early to return home to her daughter, who was experiencing postpartum depression. Now Joan is ready to continue her journey to find love on The Golden Bachelorette season 1.
"Will you accept this rose?…I’m just practicing!"
In a May 24 Instagram post, The Bachelor season 28's Kelsey Anderson wished her fiancé Joey a happy birthday. In the comments section of the post, Joan wrote, "Happy Birthday Joey!! Hope this trip around the sun is filled with adventure and joy."
Joan then playfully rehearsed handing out roses by adding, "Will you accept this rose?…I’m just practicing! XO." She included a red rose and a red heart emoji.
Should Joey & Kelsey Give Advice To Joan On The Golden Bachelorette?
Joey & Kelsey Are The Bachelor Franchise's Most Recent Success Story
Joey and Kelsey's Bachelor engagement is the franchise's most recent success story, so they're the perfect couple to appear on the show to advise Joan. Joey received some guidance from Golden Bachelor contestants April Kirkwood, Susan Noles, Kathy Swarts, and Nancy Hulkower, also known as the ASKN ladies, during his season's talent show. In addition, Susan, Leslie Fhima, and Sandra Mason appeared to advise Rachel Nance, Kelsey, and Daisy Kent, respectively, before their overnight Fantasy Suite dates. Now Joey and Kelsey have the experience in order to help Joan through her journey.
It would be especially interesting if Joey and Kelsey advised Joan on The Golden Bachelorette if Kelsey's father, Mark Anderson, joined the cast as a contestant. After his appearances on The Bachelor season 28, Bachelor Nation has been hoping that Mark would join The Golden Bachelorette or even star in his own season of The Golden Bachelor. While it might be sweet to see Joey and Kelsey help her dad find love, it could also be a bit awkward. However, Joey and Kelsey are a Bachelor Nation success story, so their advice would definitely be valuable.
Joan seems to be nicely settling in to her role as the first-ever Golden Bachelorette. Fans were just getting to know her on Gerry's season when she had to leave, but they fell in love with her calm, kind, and dignified demeanor. It's very sweet that she said that she was practicing handing out roses by offering one to Joey on his birthday. Joan was the perfect choice for the lead, and she'll represent her generation with grace. Hopefully, Joan will find the love that she's searching for during The Golden Bachelorette.
The Golden Bachelorette premieres in the fall of 2024 on ABC.
