A number of teams have had great starts in the opening month of the 2024-25 season. Out in the Pacific Division, the squad that has stood out the most has been the Vegas Golden Knights.

While many wondered what to expect from the still-young franchise after losing a number of key players this past offseason, the Golden Knights have come out of the gate strong with one of the most exciting offenses in the NHL. Though they have had some questionable play between the pipes, Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and Ivan Barbashev have been key players thus far.

The Golden Knights have scored 58 goals as a team, second only to the one-loss Winnipeg Jets. They are tied with the Los Angeles Kings for the most points in the Pacific, but their .731 winning percentage puts them above the rest in the division, good for third in the Western Conference.

On Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss why the Golden Knights truly are the class of the Pacific.

Frank Seravalli: They are for me. Anyone that came into this season thinking the Vegas Golden Knights were suddenly going to roll over and just roll out a red carpet for the [Edmonton Oilers] to march to a division title is sadly mistaken. This Golden Knights team is better than they were last year. Full seasons from [Tomas] Hertl, from [Noah] Hanifin. They’re goaltending is probably going to be better than it was.

The Golden Knights have strength at each position, top players at each position. They’re a team that’s not going to go quietly. The big thing that I like about Vegas is attention to detail, commitment. They haven’t had a night this year that makes you go, “What happened to the Golden Knights?”
