A new video game script book for The Last of Us Part 1 and 2 has just been announced. Naughty Dog is making the book in collaboration with Dark Horse Books, and it will be called The Last of Us: Part 1 and Part 2 Scripts. The book will come out on December 16, 2025.
Co-president of Naughty Dogs studio, Neil Druckmann (via Variety) said, “At the beginning, the Last of Us was a series of philosophical themes; wanting to be shaped into a story.” He added that these scripts were never meant for the public to see, until now.
Co-creator of The Last of Us part 2, Halley Gross, said that the book is a tribute to the studio and a celebration of what’s possible when they work together.
Apart from the video game scripts of the two games, the book will also include the DLC, Left Behind. The book will also consist of a short introduction by Troy Baker, who voiced Joel Miller, and an art gallery with work by the studio's principal character concept artist Hyoung Nam.
The Last of Us: Part 1 and Part 2 Scripts will consist of 618 pages. The hardcover version of the book will be 8 inches by 11 inches big. The book is currently available for pre-order on Amazon U.S. at a price tag of $69.99.
Considering that Dark Horse books like The Art of The Last of Us and its Part II are available on stores like Bookswagon in India, we can expect to see this book on sale in the country too.
