Here are five reasons Scott Morrow will succeed with the New York Rangers:
1. He is only 22 years old. Not to mention he’s 6 '2” 200 pounds, AND a right handed defenseman.
2. He is a strong skater and offensive minded. I could think of a current Ranger that would be a good mentor. He wears the number 23.
3. He’ll get to develop behind Adam Fox. Who wouldn’t learn a thing or two from a Norris Trophy winner? It’s hard not to.
4. He had 39 points in 52 games in the AHL, as a rookie, with power play time.
5. Determination. During his end-of-season interview Morrow said, “I still feel like, physically, I have a lot of room to grow and in terms of my body, I'm still a young kid.”
With a lot of room to develop, the acquisition is a win-win for the Blueshirts.
