We’ve made it to the end of our list. After taking a stroll down memory lane in honor of the 100th season of Real Housewives, it has been quite the trip. We’ve revisited the Homeless Not Toothless debacle. We have been in the sprinter vans. Now, we are counting down the last ten moments of this epic franchise. So thanks for staying with us to the end and I hope we did you proud.
Let’s take a look at Real Housewives’ Greatest Moments of All Time 10 – 1…
10. Vicki Gunvalson doesn’t want a “little family van”
The rage that Vicki Gunvalson felt when she yelled those infamous two words, “Family van,” shook the entire Real Housewives of Orange County franchise to its core. Vicki was all about “Whooping it up” most of the time, but she was unhappy when the stretch limo she hired turned out to be a minivan. Bravo cameras caught her exploding with rage on the phone, yelling, “I said 12 bags, six people. We are going on a cruise for two and a half weeks. This is not funny! You have a little family van. When do you ever bring a family van to pick up six people? This is ridiculous!”
9. Bethenny Frankel confirms it is indeed “about Tom”
I’m still shaken after hearing Bethenny Frankel mutter these words from her hotel bed to Luann de Lesseps. While away on a cast trip to Palm Beach, Bethenny fell upon some information that Tom D’Agostino was cheating on Lu. A mutual friend had spotted Tom kissing some other woman at the bar in The Plaza. The man didn’t exactly try to hide his affairs. Bethenny proceeded to summon the countess, who whimpered, “Please don’t let it be about Tom.” To which Bethenny replied, “It’s about Tom.”
8. Karen Huger can’t get her wig in place
The Grand Dame of the Potomac has always tried her best to present herself as a pretty, put-together woman. But sometimes Mother Nature has other plans for you. While at a girl’s picnic, Karen Huger’s hair had everyone on edge as she tried her best to course correct. But that stubborn breeze kept turning it until the wig was pretty much backward. This is perhaps the one time I really saw the women work together as Candiace Dillard Bassett noted, “Okay, hold on. Let’s do this.” As Karen started to look more like Cousin It the ladies lost control and just couldn’t help but laugh.
7. Shereé Whitfield asks the immortal question: “Who gon’ check me boo?”
Shereé Whitfield always came to play during her time on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. But it was during Season 2 when fans learned just how much of a gangster she was. Sheree was just trying to plan a simple party but her event coordinator had left her frustrated and with little answers. The party planner made the mistake of trying to put Sheree in her place, but the mom of three was ready and asked, “Who gon’ check me, boo?”
6. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ dinner party from hell
The dinner party from hell on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills made me dread becoming an adult and being invited to such things. Camille Grammer was the pot stirrer we all needed as she was the one who invited the medium, Allison DuBois, who ended up insulting everyone before the first course. Allison foresaw the future as she told Kyle Richards that Mauricio Umansky would “never emotionally fulfill.” Lisa Vanderpump described the dinner as “a few clowns short of a circus.” And Taylor Armstrong exploded yelling “Enough” after it all just became too much.
5. Teresa Giudice’s table flip
This scene, without a doubt, helped to put Real Housewives on the map. During the Season 1 finale, Teresa Giudice found the lies spewing from Danielle Staub to be all too much. After the former stripper asked Tre to “Pay attention, please,” the mother of four exploded in a fit of rage. Viewers watched as she lifted the dinner table, food, and all to prove her point. Needless to say, a lot of chicken parm died in vain that night.
4. The Reality Von Tease reveal
Monica Garcia was the one-hit wonder no franchise had ever seen. After winning over Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fans in the beginning, Heather Gay learned they had all been lied to. The Beauty Lab founder discovered that the freshman cast member had been behind the troll account Reality Von Tease. The account had been bullying Heather and the rest of the cast for years. Heather informed the rest of the cast on the beach while in Bermuda leaving everyone stunned as she stated, “Recpets. Proof. Timeline. Screenshots.”
3. Kim Richards vs. Lisa Rinna in Amsterdam
As the ladies vacationed in Amsterdam during Season 5, no one quite thought it would end up with a blowout fight between Kim Richards and Lisa Rinna. By Season 5, Kim’s issues with alcohol were well known, and the women were exhausted. While at dinner, what started as an apology from Lisa ended with Kim throwing accusations. The former child star was livid Lisa had stuck her nose where it didn’t belong.
Voices got louder, and insults were thrown. Eventually, Kim crossed the line when she repeated a rumor that Harry Hamlin, Lisa’s husband, had cheated on her. The night ended with a broken glass and Lisa being restrained.
2. Real Housewives of New York’s vacation to Scary Island
All Kelly Bensimon wanted was some friends and gummy bears. What she got instead was paranoid thoughts and weird looks. Kelly’s erratic behavior was concerning most of her cast members. At the time, Bethenny Frankel was one of the only women who tried to end the merry-go-round of crazy. The crux of the issue was Kelly was horrified that she had received a goody bag of Skinnygirl products from B. After what felt like hours, Bethenny finally screamed, “Cuckoo for cocoa puffs! Go to sleep!”
1. Tamra Judge changes the game with a question about Bass Lake
Gretchen Rossi wasn’t the most liked by her fellow castmates. At the time she was dating Jeff Beitzel, who was much older than her. Naturally, everyone thought she was a gold digger. Jeff was dying from Leukemia and showering her with expensive gifts, which left Tamra Judge and Vicki a bit peeved. While at a dinner, Gretchen catches Tammy Sue whispering about her. After inquiring about the issue, Tamra uttered the now-famous question, “Did you go to Bass Lake?”
Back in the early days, accusing someone of taking advantage of a dying man was pretty abhorrent. Today, viewers and cast members probably wouldn’t think twice. Everyone was caught off guard by the question, and no one seemed to know how to manipulate the conversation.
Tamra’s question changed the course of Real Housewives at that moment – when absolutely nothing was rendered off-limits. To that we say, THANK YOU, TAMMY SUE!
