Brittany Cartwright accused her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, of counting her condoms after Tuesday’s new episode of The Valley saw her concerned that he had potentially bugged their previously shared home.
Speaking of the months that followed their split, Brittany, 36, admitted to having a sex drawer and questioned the whereabouts of her $70,000 wedding ring as Jax, 45, who spiraled after learning she had hooked up with his friend, Julian Sensley, 42, post-split recalled coming across condoms on a number of different occasions.
“I have like a … sex drawer. And he went up there and like counted my condoms … has peeked through my trash cans,” Brittany revealed on the June 3 episode of The Valley: After Show.
Meanwhile, after stating that he is not yet dating, Jax shared his side of the story.
“I know there is a guy because I’ve gone in the house to pick up Cruz and I’ve seen empty condom wrappers next to the bed. I’ve seen certain things that I don’t know why she can’t throw away before I come over to the house … Literally, condom wrappers on the floor,” he alleged. “I made fun of it. I was like, ‘I found condom wrappers again.’”
According to Jax, he first came across condoms while using the bathroom.
“I went in and I looked over and I was looking through the garbage as I’m sitting there and I’m like ‘Oh, there’s a condom wrapper.’ And I called her on it … The week after, I found more condom wrappers,” he explained, suspecting that once Brittany knew he’d found them, she was no longer “careful about it.”
” I made a joke to her about it. I’m like ‘At least you’re using condoms. That’s good.’ I was just keeping it lighthearted,” he noted.
While Jax said he hopes that he and Brittany will get to the place of being civil when it comes to dealing with each other’s dating lives, he suggested that Brittany wasn’t there yet because she was still heartbroken over their breakup.
“She’s still hurt and everything, which is understandable,” he noted.
As for Brittany’s future partners, Jax confessed that he would likely be at least a little bothered.
“Of course it’s gonna, ‘oh it sucks,’ kind of thing. But we gotta move on, and I want her to be happy. She’s still young enough to where she can get married again and maybe have another child again so I want her to be that way,” he shared. “As hard as it is for me to say, because it’s a controlling thing .. I want her to be happy.”
In another segment of The Valley: After Show, Jax revealed he had Brittany’s wedding ring in a safe.
“[It’s going into] a trust for Cruz .. [But] I thought about [pawning it],” he admitted. “It’s in the safe. It’s safe there … The only thing we’re trying to figure out is Cruz’s … schedule. That’s it.”
But Brittany hadn’t seen it.
“I don’t know where it is. He says it’s in a safe. I don’t know, though. I told him that I wanted to keep it so that I could either put the money in an account for Cruz, or if Cruz wants to get married one day, he could use the ring … [But there’s] very high chances that he sold it,” she stated.
Since their split early last year, Brittany said she’d asked Jax for $5,000 since she “[pays] for everything,” including his $10,000 per month for Jax’s tax debt and all of Cruz’s activities.
“I was very stern about it. I was like, ‘You need to at least give me something.’ I said, ‘It needs to be at least $5,000,’ and he wrote me a check for $3,000 and said, ‘I’ll get the rest soon.’ And I’m like ‘Where is all your money?’” she recalled. “But he’s always been so tight, though, even with me, our bank accounts were always separate. ‘You’re spending too much on clothes or shoes,’ he would always be on me about that stuff … So I’m just wondering, like, ‘Where did everything go?’”
As for Jax, he claimed to have given Brittany “tons and tons of money.”
“I would say around $25,000 and $30,000 this year, which is a lot of money,” he declared.
