The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 – Jeffrey Dean Morgan Confirms Maggie and Negan Reunite in Episode 4

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 1!Jeffrey Dean Morgan has confirmed in which episode of The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 Maggie and Negan will reunite as conflict builds. The first episode of Dead City season 2 established that Negan (Morgan) is now working under the Dama (Lisa Emery) to unite the groups of Manhattan under her rule. While this is partially a power play, she's also doing this to protect the island from the New Babylon Federation, who have recruited Maggie (Lauren Cohan) among other soldiers in their mission to secure the city's operations of turning zombies into methane.

Speaking with Deadline, Morgan confirmed that Maggie and Negan will reunite in The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2, episode 4. While he did not offer details on what their reunion will entail, he did confirm the audience "will see us reunite [in episode 4]," during the halfway point of the season. Whether this will be a friendly reunion or not, though, remains to be seen.

What Maggie & Negan's Upcoming Reunion Means For Dead City

Season 2 Will Spend Its Start With The Pair Far Apart

Maggie and Negan's Walking Dead Spin-off Has a New Title

Maggie and Negan have found themselves on the opposite sides of a war for Manhattan, which is being conducted by two groups that have greedy interests at heart. While the Dama is gathering forces to defend New York City from outsiders, Dead City season 1 ended by confirming a major reason for this was because she wanted total control of the island. The season 2 premiere revealed New Babylon executes those who try to escape from conscription, showing their brutality towards anyone who doesn't fall in line.

However, with two more episodes before the duo meet each other again, the actions both of their groups take could lead to a deeper schism once they've met up again. With the pair still having tension between each other due to their pasts, the decisions of other characters in Dead City season 2 might cause even more pressure. Since they both have important roles on their respective sides, it remains to be seen if they can put their differences behind them to escape, or if they'll end up fighting each other because of their new allegiances.

Our Take On Maggie & Negan's Upcoming Reunion In Dead City Season 2

The Walking Dead's Longest-Running Feud Might Finally Come To An End

Given her initial plan to go to New York City to save Negan, it's unclear if Maggie is still going to feel like that's what she has to do by season 2, episode 4. However, the pair reuniting and possibly working together to leave the island might be what the show needs to finally bring their long-running conflict to a close. With Morgan now confirming the pair are going to meet again well before the season ends, The Walking Dead: Dead City has the perfect opportunity to make some real progress on their lengthy conflict.
