What happens on The Young and the Restless

On Monday, watch for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) to celebrate a win. We know that last week she scored an invitation to Aristotle Dumas's mid-June party in Nice, France. Phyllis has expressed her joy to Billy (Jason Thompson) and Sally (Courtney Hope) already. Is she going to continue to rub this victory in other people's faces? Or is Phyllis coming into even more good news?

We can see her sipping champagne at either the Society or the Genoa City Athletic Club to share her good news with everyone and anyone who crosses her path. But is being on Dumas's guest list truly something to celebrate if there's potential danger ahead?

The dream that I once knew

We got a glimpse of Mariah's (Camryn Grimes) big secret on Y&R last week when she had a flashback (in black and white, no less) in which she had a drink and was approached by a mysterious man played by soap veteran Michael Swan (ex-Duncan, As the World Turns). On Monday, watch for Mariah to experience déjà vu. That likely isn't a good thing, as Mariah has had her share of adversaries over the years. And while we've only seen the mystery man played by Swan briefly in Mariah's flashback, we have to admit he's giving us some scary Ian Ward (Ray Wise) vibes.

Sharon makes a promise

Nick (Joshua Morrow) may react with skepticism when Sharon (Sharon Case) makes her promise on The Young and the Restless | Image: CBS

We've seen Nick (Joshua Morrow) play the dutiful former husband to both Sharon (Sharon Case) and Phyllis. Nick deserves happiness, as do Phyllis and Sharon. However, it seems almost as if he's unwilling to recommit to one or the other out of fear of hurting the one he does not choose.

On Monday's show, watch for Sharon to make a promise to Nick. This could be anything, given the length of time these two have known each other. Sharon could make a promise to go with Nick to Dumas's party in France. She could say she'll vow to hold down the fort with their family while Nick goes by himself.

Or could this promise be something more lasting and more romantic? Sharon promised to love Nick when they got married. Could a surprise wedding be in store? Not likely, but in the world of soaps, anything is possible!
