The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, May 1, reveals that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will face two shockers while Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) is forced to provide proof to score Vibrante funding.
At Crimson Lights, Audra will push Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) for some funding since her cosmetics company is a crucial part of her plan to target Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
Victor won’t want to offer anything until Audra makes progress, so he’ll propose a deal where he deposits seed money into an account with each viable step toward Kyle’s takedown.
Audra will decide to name her new venture Vibrante and will gloat to Kyle about it when he pops up at the coffeehouse later.
Despite Audra’s confidence, Kyle will make predictions about her failing like all the other competitors who have tried to go up against Jabot.
At the tack house, Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) will be so weak that he can barely stand as Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) leads him out to the car.
Victoria will plan on taking Cole to the doctor and will vow to give Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) updates once she knows more.
Claire will fret over Cole as she makes her way to Crimson Lights, where she’ll call Audra out for being rude.
Audra will eventually take off, so that’ll give Claire a chance to voice her concerns to Kyle about Cole’s medical crisis.
Kyle will reassure Claire about Cole before talk turns to Audra bragging about Vibrante.
After Kyle suspects Victor is funding the venture, Claire will admit there’s a reason to worry since she just found out her grandfather is indeed working with Audra.
Although Claire won’t know the details of the deal, she’ll have a hunch that a move is being made against Kyle.
Over the phone later, Kyle will instruct someone to find out everything they can about Vibrante.
As Kyle sits down to do his own research as well, he’ll feel confident that he already knows who’s behind this – meaning Victor!
During a meal with Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) at the GCAC, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will get cagey about his recent meeting with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
After Michael finally confesses he was giving Jack a heads-up about Victor ramping up the feud, Lauren will lash out over him trying to play both sides.
Lauren will think it’s going to come back to bite Michael, but he’ll insist Victor will never find out.
Despite Michael’s efforts to navigate the situation and help stop the collateral damage, Lauren will feel like he’s going to land at the center of a disaster.
That’s why Lauren will push Michael to quit his job and avoid the catastrophe before it’s too late.
At one point, Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) will pop up and sense that she’s interrupted something.
Lauren will put Michael on the spot by making Diane suspicious of their conversation about Jack and Victor.
Diane will ultimately question whether Michael’s loyalty is to his friends or the man who signs his checks before stomping off.
Lauren will basically wonder the same thing and frustrate Michael since he’ll feel like she refuses to see his perspective.
Once Victor returns to the ranch, he’ll call out for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and see that the place is empty.
Victor will text Michael that he needs to see him immediately, but Lauren obviously won’t be happy about it.
At Society on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will sit down for a meeting with Summer and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).
Although Summer will gush over what a great team the three of them make, Chelsea will admit she got a job offer and could be leaving Marchetti.
Chelsea will clarify that she isn’t being poached by another fashion house, but she won’t want to get into the details since it isn’t a done deal yet.
Sally will suspect Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) asked Chelsea to join him at Newman Media since that’d be “on brand” for him.
Summer will worry about the crushing blow Marchetti would face if Chelsea departed, but Chelsea will suggest that Sally could take over the creative director position like she did before.
Chelsea will think Sally could handle it along with Marchetti Z, especially if Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) gets promoted.
Summer will be open to the idea, but then Sally will admit she got a job offer of her own.
Summer will be in disbelief as she realizes she could be losing both of her lead designers at the same time!
