The Buffalo Bills are once again poised to be one of the Super Bowl favorites after a superb 2024 season that saw Josh Allen and Co. get so close to slaying the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
With Allen, the defending MVP winner, the Bills beefed up their defense with some shrewd free agency signings like Joey Bosa, Larry Ogunjobi, and Michael Hoecht, plus they went defense with their first five draft picks.
So it feels set up for the Bills to have a genuine tilt at the Super Bowl again, but for The Facility's Emmanuel Acho, the 2025 season is the year Allen and Buffalo have to win it all.
"With this schedule, Josh Allen should be able to have repeat MVP-caliber numbers," Acho said. "Five of the Bills' first eight games are against quarterbacks that are in their fourth year starting or younger. Buffalo Bills, this has to be the year, they've never been the one seed, three consecutive years being the two seed, this is the year the Bills should get the one seed, this is the year."
Is Acho wrong? Definitely not.
But the Bills won't have it easy with the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs among the contenders, and Buffalo plays both in 2025, so we will get a good gauge on where it sits in the pecking order.
With Allen and most of the offensive pieces returning (Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper gone) under Joe Brady, coupled with the addition of Joshua Palmer, the unit again feels poised to be one of the best in football.
Defensively, the Bills' pass rush has some more bite with the additions to the defensive line, which, in theory, should help come playoff time.
If there ever was a year when Allen could make it to the Super Bowl, like Acho, we feel that this is the year he'll do it.
