This Season’s RHOSLC Newbie Shook Things Up Like Never Before!

This season, Bravo provided a stacked newbie cast across the Real Housewives series, with Bozoma Saint John on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Katie Ginella and Heather Dubrow on Real Housewives of Orange County, and Racquel Chevremont bringing controversy to Real Housewives of New York. However, one newbie outshines them all — Real Housewives of Salt Lake City's Bronwyn Newport.

RHOSLC has an elite cast, but Bronwyn took it to another level, feuding with almost all the ladies, most notably Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, and Angie Katsanevas. Bronwyn was open about her personal life, opening up about her history and marital problems. And, unlike many other ladies, she has real Salt Lake City wealth. Bronwyn shook things up like Salt Lake City had never seen before.

Bronwyn Newport Feuded with Almost All Her RHOSLC Castmates

Bronwyn isn't afraid to express exactly how she feels or call out others for their shady behavior, making her the perfect person to check these ladies on their toxic ways. Usually, newbies keep a low profile, but Bronwyn stirred things up, starting with her vicious feud with Lisa. Surprisingly, the two were best friends going into the season. Bronwyn not inviting Heather on the group trip to Palm Springs created the rift. Lisa and Meredith Marks expressed disappointment that Heather wasn't on the trip, which upset Bronwyn. On the trip, Lisa calls Heather and when Bronwyn finds out, she's furious, feeling that Lisa has no loyalty towards their friendship and never heard her side of things. Things get even messier when Bronwyn discovers that Lisa is friends with the estranged paternal grandparents of her daughter, Gwen. It strikes a deep chord with Bronwyn that someone she considered a friend is close with people who hurt her family. During the Season 5 reunion, their relationship went from bad to worse as Lisa claimed that Gwen's paternal grandmother believed Bronwyn had a miscarriage. Bronwyn was furious that Lisa suggested she had faked a miscarriage. On top of that, Lisa allegedly talked to the jeweler who sold Bronwyn an expensive necklace in Palm Springs, revealing she never purchased anything.

Meanwhile, Heather and Bronwyn's conflict is all because Heather got a bad first impression of Bronwyn over something she said about Whitney Rose. Feeling that Bronwyn was saying some not-so-nice things about Whitney behind her back and cozying up to her face, Heather called her two-faced. Then, when Bronwyn invited Heather to her home, nothing was resolved, and Heather was disinvited from the group trip.

Bronwyn also managed to get into a feud with Angie. During Heather and Whitney's "Camp Day," Angie tells Bronwyn to "Shut the f- up" and to "Borrow Meredith's hearing aids and turn them up." Then, at Meredith's bat mitzvah, the two get into a heated altercation after they deserve apologies from one another, which neither gets. Basically, Bronwyn is not afraid to put the others in their place, even if it means getting her hands dirty.

Bronwyn Newport Is Open About Her Past

Outside the feuds, Bronwyn has plenty of family drama. Raised Mormon, she attended Birmingham Young University, a notoriously religious school, until she got pregnant, dropped out, and was ex-communicated from the church. Though she doesn't reveal much about her child's father, they didn't stay together, and he has since passed. Bronwyn was open on the show about her difficulties as a single mother, abandoned by the church and her family. She didn't want anything about Gwen's paternal grandparents to come up on camera, but it did, and she handled the situation gracefully. It was refreshing to see a cast member be vulnerable, and the conversations with her daughter, Gwen, were heartwarming. Although Gwen's paternal grandparents hurt her, she let Gwen decide if she wanted to get to know them.

Bronwyn's marriage to Todd Bradley was also a major topic of conversation. She Todd (who is 26 years older than her) while she was working in finance. Many of the ladies questioned Todd's treatment of her, particularly him talking down to her, which led Bronwyn to discuss past infidelity in their marriage. In an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Bronwyn clarified that Todd never physically cheated on her, but they had misunderstandings about their boundaries. Regardless, it is courageous of Bronwyn to willingly talk about her marital problems on camera.

Bronwyn Newport Is The Definition of Salt Lake City Wealth

Bronwyn is by far the wealthiest cast member on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. This season provided a glimpse into her beautiful mountainside mansion, furnished with colorful and eclectic furniture and artwork. She also has a very eccentric and expensive taste for fashion. In her RHOSLC debut, she flaunted a giant, red heart-shaped Saint Laurent fur jacket worth $15,000, explaining that it is only one of three in existence: hers, one belonging to singer Rhianna, and one in a museum. Bronwyn carried this season of RHOSLC, delivering top-tier drama and courageously opening up about her family and marital problems while showing off her killer closet in only one season!
