A former Husker tight end has signed a one-year contract in the NFL. Jack Stoll agreed to terms with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday.
Stoll played at Nebraska from 2016 to 2020. In 43 career games, he had 61 receptions for 657 yards and six touchdowns.
After dealing with injuries his senior year, the tight end received an extra year of eligibility from the NCAA. He would decline that extra year and enter the 2021 NFL draft.
He would go undrafted but signed a free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. He's also spent time in the NFL with the New York Giants and the Miami Dolphins.
John Sigler of Saints Wire believes that Stoll's previous relationship with the New Orleans coaching staff should help solidify his team role.
"He's someone several Saints coaches know well, particularly Kellen Moore and run game coordinator T.J. Paganetti. Stoll has a reputation as a skilled blocker on running plays and that figures to be his main role in New Orleans."
Stoll is another example of a former Cornhusker finding success at the next level.
